It is a lovely place with the best location for the convention center, looks clean and organized with many employees to help.

It could help a lot if the Staff could speak English, a few of them did and it was tough to understand them, being the only Hotel attached to the Convention center I think that the staff can be more verse in different languages or at least English.

The room was comfortable and well-maintained, with good facilities that made the stay relaxing. The breakfast was satisfactory and provided a decent variety to start the day. The location offered easy access to major attractions in Shanghai, making sightseeing convenient.

There are no grocery stores or similar shops in the immediate vicinity, which made it difficult to purchase small essentials. The money exchange machines at or near the hotel were also unreliable, which caused inconvenience. Having more practical amenities nearby would greatly improve the guest experience.

Extremely disappointing stay...Far below the Intercontinental standardsOur stay at this Intercontinental Shanghai Hongqiao was deeply unsatisfactory, falling far short of expectations for a global hotel chain.Communication Issues & Poor Service:Only two staff members spoke English—one was helpful in providing directions, while the other, a particularly rude woman at the breakfast buffet, repeatedly harassed us, falsely claiming our booking was only for two people and demanding extra payment (waving a bill in our faces). This was incorrect, as we had already paid for three guests. We send her off multiple times to the reception to check, yet not a sign of an aplogatic look or being sorry..only a "dirty-stare" .. same story the very next morning.Unprofessional Gym & Spa Staff:The gym and spa staff were shockingly unprofessional. When we inquired (via translation) about the steam room to the woman in the morning shift (should couldnt speak any english & was very dismissive) she called a middle-aged man who was working out inside the gym, he took us inside the changing room mumbling rudely in chinese, then when we arrived at the sauna we explain via the translation app that we were looking for the steam room... he lost it and began shouting at us in Chinese. It turns out there was no steam room—yet instead of clarifying, the staff refused to call reception to resolve the misunderstanding. When we escalated the issue, the reception staff either didn’t speak English and responded with dismissive smiles and vague acknowledgments ("OK, OK"), offering no real solution. The hotel management is free to check the cameras on 16th April around 7:40ish AM.in the SPA. The 3 other people in the shower area came out to see what is going on...Unwelcoming Atmosphere & Poor Breakfast buffet:The breakfast buffet was underwhelming, especially for the Intercontinental.

Great hotel, especially if you’re attending an exhibition at the NECC. I was able to access the exhibition through the hotel, which was very convenient. The rooms are good with the basic amenities you’d expect from an Intercontinental Hotel.The breakfast was good. There’s also access to the subway via the NECC which makes it convenient to get around Shanghai.

I was unable to use the swimming pool or Jacuzzi because I didn’t have a swimming cap. I wasn’t notified about this requirement when booking the hotel. There’s only one bar & restaurant excluding the Buffet restaurant. The hotel reception gave us the incorrect information regarding the duration of the Subway from NECC to Pudong International Airport. She advised that the duration is +- 50 minutes, however, the actual duration was around 90 minutes, which is a significant difference and could result in someone missing their flight.

Breakfast had little options. The restaurant food wasn’t our taste. No or little recreational activities available.

shower could have been hotter, Also every morning at 6 am you can hear the garbage bins being loaded in the back of the hotel, Get a high room. i was on 2nd floor

was a good stay as we visited the Sign show and it was so convienent each day .Metro stat

I booked a massage at the spa which i believe could have been better .The lady doing the massage was inexperienced and half way through the massage left to use the bathroom for 5 minutes.It was unprofessional and the massage itself was substandard and definitly not something i would reccomend to anyone.

No nice views. Also the breakfast is limited to Chinese cuisine. So more Indian cuisine items would be nice

InterContinental Hotels are always great! We chose this property because of the size of the rooms. They were clean and spacious! It's located near the National Convention Expo, about 45 min from the Pudong International Airport. Although further from the city center, the property is within walking distance of a subway station, which makes all the attractions and amenities, including the subway to Nanjing Rd/the Bund/Disneyland, etc., accessible. Quite convenient indeed. Their continental breakfast is excellent, and they have various local and international stations.

Very good location for business trip. Exhibition centre in the Hotel. Good breakfast, good personal, good SPA.

Far from city centre.

Breakfast was nice. The room was clean all the time. On location, this was my first time in China, it allowed me to have a better view of China.

Nothing on the hotel. The heat outside was discouraging to take a walk.

I booked the room trough Booking and I checked the price the day before and my booking was 35% dearer compared with the price that day, which after discussing with the check in personnel they changed. I was forced to change room on the 3rd night due to the roof leaking water in the bathroom.
