Shanghai Park Hotel

Great location, walking distance to restaurants, parks, trains, shopping areas, museums, etc. Friendly and helpful staff. The building is historic but well maintained. Shower water and bathroom vents are great.

Location- USA traveler:I stay here when in Shanghai. Priced well. Adjacent to subways to get to new Art Museum, PuDong and within walking distance of the Shanghai Museum, Nanjing St. shopping, with van service to airport (cost). Chinese buffet Breakfast.

Wonderful staff and close to metro.. most staff could understand English. They k ew the area and were helpful with directions.

Location is awesome. Right next to metro and right in front of a gorgeous park.

It’s dated but it’s a historic building so I kind of liked that it maintained its classic looks. So really nothing I didn’t like.

Beautiful historic building, well preserved. Excellent location at the People's park, next to the old YMCA, now China Sports Museum, highly recommend to visit, also the bar outside museum, excellent and cheap coffee. Bank of China has the branch in the hotel building, they change money faster, taking just about half an hour...

The reception staff could speak better English. The only really friendly people are the chambermaids. The exhibition on Laszlo Hudec architect is excellent, but the silver could be polished once again.

Great location, close to subway, people’s park and Nanjing walking street. Can walk to the bund. The famous bakery is at the hotel. Great breakfast, and quiet room. Hotel itself has rich history. We stayed here three or four times, whenever we visited Shanghai.

The hotel’s location is excellent and very convenient, with the Metro right across the street and plenty of eateries just behind the hotel. Despite being a heritage property, the rooms and facilities are well kept, and overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Park Hotel is the perfect place to stay in Shanghai. Its central location puts you close to all the main sights and right next to several metro lines. The Art Deco architecture is absolutely stunning—staying here feels like stepping into history. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. Thanks Wu Chang Hong. A truly special and memorable experiece.

Great heritage hotel, location and access to the pastry deli.

Two things were really disappointing - 1) central AC was freezing cold and my parents were forced to wear their shower robes inside their suite or either turn off the AC completely, staff said there is no way to otherwise change the temperatures; 2) there’s no CNN or any channel if you would like foreign language program, two technicians came to room to try fix and left without getting it resolved yet no apology or any kind.

ı had no breakfast. by mistake ı did not choose. but generally was of for Chinese but for the european was very less things to eat.

bath room was very old and ı had to fight with shower curtain all the time.

The location, the size of the room, the helpfulness of the staff, everything was great!

Locationa and atmosphere is very nice and historic story of the hotel.

The rooms smelled really bad. They had odd smell of specific cleaning stuff.

Not a good option to sleep well

- Sewage system is very loud, wakes you up in the morning- You can hear everything from outside the room. No sound insulation at all

Breakfast was very good. The only thing is I have breakfast by myself, and I note there were many solo or two person travellers. There were too few smaller tables. I am quite sociable and good at engaging but as a foreigner, not everyone would feel as comfortable.

Excellent location, so close to a beautiful park and metro which takes you most directions or simply walk to many great parts of the city . The breakfast is fantastic, the history and decor of the hotel is very much a high point.

Room was comfortable however location near housekeeping made it noisy. Room needed a bath/ shower update and was lacking in electrical sockets for the modern world!

Location was excellent, right next to the metro station that has direct connections to the Railway Station and Airport. City sightseen bus stop is only few meters away, which is handy if only visiting the city shortly. Restaurants and shopping in the immediate vicinity. Hotel is old and historical, locating Shanghais zero point. The breakfast was diverse, which was enjoyable.

Some update could be done to the rooms. The drain was not running in the shower, so the shower water was up to my ankles. Didn't bother me that much though.
