Not clean enough, house keeper did not change the bed sheets after we requested, and take the change sheet little card away, we have to request by person. Not clean the toilet daily,not clean the shower compartment daily,shower compartment floor slippery.

I booked this hotel because its reputation and location, after checked in, I decided to upgraded the room from the south building to the north building, paid ---RMB extra per night. The room was good size and clean with a window facing the garden.

The hall way and the entire swimming pool area and fitness area have strong smell of smoke. I could not tolerate such strong smell, so I decided not to use the fitness nor the swimming facility there.

Lovely hotel with a long history. Elegant and charming with all of the modern amenities.

The location is close to many tourist destinantion.Family Room was spacoius.

Breakfast menu was same during my 3 days breakfast.

I have stayed at this grand dame of Shanghai hotels many times over the last 3 decades. Always professional and great value

The weather

Room was big.

Front lady manager at both towers were rude. The young guy at our tower in the afternoon check in was rather clueless. But the 2 morning check out male staff were very good.

As usual, I enjoyed my stay at Jin Jiang. Very friendly engaging staff. Crystal clean rooms. There was an issue with my room but the manager Leon immediately solved my issue by moving me to a different room. His professionalism and managing capability plus his kindness impressed me greatly. I will definitely go back to Jin Jiang again when I come back to Shanghai next time.

We had a wonderful experience at Jin Jiang Hotel in Shanghai. The hotel is elegant, very clean, and offers a calm, comfortable atmosphere despite being located in a lively part of the city. The rooms are spacious, well maintained, and perfect for resting after a busy day exploring Shanghai.The staff was professional, friendly, and always ready to help, which made our stay even more pleasant. The location is excellent, with easy access to major attractions, shopping areas, and public transportation.Overall, a great combination of comfort, service, and convenience. We truly enjoyed our stay and would gladly return again.

Pretty place and well located. Breakfast was nice. Staff at the reception was incredibly unfriendly and not very helpful.

Rooms are spacious and clean

Aircon was not working properly. It was always on heater mode. Hotel Staff are courteous and helpful but had difficulty communicating in English.

The local and history of the hotel

Staff (when alone) at times are sub-par for a 5 star hotel: some start to smoke on the ground, or sitting on the curbside resting… just a weird vibe for the grounds of a 5 star former state guest house. facing the guests, they are all very good. I overheard one staff loudly quoting swear words to another manager… things like that.

Location was good

Even though it was pretty cold outside, the room was SO hot. They provided a small fan, but even then I was sweating and didn’t sleep well.

Great location for a visitor to Shanghai. Nice, comfortable room.

Every day, many breakfast items were not restocked once exhausted, even on days I was there 40+ minutes before breakfast ended.

Old high quality rooms and close to subway and nice restaurants.

Located in the middle of shanghai, yet very calm. Close to subway stations and have variety of shops and restaurants around.

beds were super comfy. Bathroom was big as was the shower! The room service fried rice was amazing and they even took orders at 1am! Let me check in early at 10 am!

the door to the bathroom couldn't be locked, my key card stopped working on the last day of my stay, but they fixed that quickly.

Absolutely HORRIBLE

I had an absolutely terrible experience at Jin Jiang Hotel, and I am deeply disappointed with the staff, especially the General Manager, Mr. Cai. I booked my room through Booking.com, but when I arrived, I was charged a significantly higher price than what was listed in my reservation. When I asked the staff (in Chinese) why I was being charged more, their response was infuriatingly dismissive — they told me it wasn’t their problem and that I should take it up with Booking.com. This was after midnight, and I had just arrived exhausted from my flight at 12 AM! To make matters worse, they demanded I pay the inflated price, or I wouldn’t be allowed to check in and would have to leave. This kind of customer service is completely unacceptable. The hotel’s blatant disregard for its own pricing and the rude, unhelpful attitude of the staff, including the General Manager, was beyond disappointing. I will never stay here again, and I strongly advise others to avoid this place. There are plenty of other better hotel options in Shanghai with similar price point.
