Sunrise on the Bund Hotel

Convenient for getting on Yangtze River cruise. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

A bit far from the center of city

Definitely the location, walking distance to the bund, quiet neighborhood with easy access to the metro.

Was hoping that in such a big hotel with international guest the staff would be better in English it was extremely hard to communicate or getting understood when we needed something or had basic questions.

Located in a pleasant business district, close to the metro.

We stayed for two nights and were disappointed. The hotel barely qualifies as a three-star — the room was very small, with tiny windows and a view of a construction site. Furniture was old and worn, and there was a strong musty smell, likely from the nearby pool.The worst part was the check-in: we were charged 30% more than the booking price, without any explanation. Only after asking, we were told it was a deposit — but no one informed us in advance. After check-out, we were refunded the deposit but asked to pay again for the stay, so now we’re waiting for our bank to process the refund. It was frustrating and unexpected, especially since our expenses were carefully planned in advance.

Location of the hotel is great. It is a walking distance to Shanghai Bund around 10-15 minutes walk and close to some shopping malls. The staff service was ok. They are quite helpful with our request but lack of proficiency in English.

The interior of the room is quite old. I found the bed was not comfortable (too soft) and the air conditioner is somewhat warm (need to open the window to make the room cool) but the room is clean though.In my daughters room there was no bathroom curtain to block view from the bed room so you can forget about privacy when taking shower (perhaps this room is intended for honeymoon couple)

Room smelled like old cigarette smoke.Could not get the wifi to work.

The hotel’s prime location was highly convenient, but the standout feature was the thoughtfully designed bathroom amenities. The heated toilet seat, along with adjustable front and rear wash functions and an integrated heater, added a level of sophistication and comfort that elevated the overall experience

While the hotel appears to have undergone renovations, the wooden furniture retains a rustic and classic aesthetic, leaving it unclear whether this was intentional or if the pieces are remnants from the past. Additionally, being a classic building, the room’s ceiling height is relatively low, and the mattress could be upgraded to meet the comfort standards expected of a quality hotel.

Great Location, close to the Bund (not on the Bund). Rooms are comfortable and spacious. Good breakfast.

Why is there no (opaque) door on the toilet!? or a curtain on the bathroom window? There are places you need privacy even from your partner :D

The staff were attentive, professional and accomodating. Much appreciated the complimentary fruit platter.

The aircon system was sucks and so hot during my stay

It was overall clean. Concierge was willing to ask everything. (Practicing English I guess.)

As of April 2024, there is a construction going on right in front of the hotel. It seemed nonstop 24/7 so was very noisy. Staff was never smiling. Don’t know why, but everybody was really unhappy.

Close to North Bund and the ferry station to Pudong. Also walking distance to Raffles city Shopping Center. Very comfortable, clean and spacious room. For Jing’an or FFC it is easiest to take a taxi. There is currently a large building site behind the hotel, so I was given a room facing the side towards the river.

The hotel is perfectly located within walking distance from the Bund. The location is quiet, and there are enough restaurants within 5-10 min. Walk

The beds are hard

The sauna and pool were very nice. There is a nice mall nearby with good restaurants called Sinarmas. The view is amazing of the The Bund, Pearl Tower etc. The staff were really nice and spoke English well. It is a nice hotel, but the location is weird.

The location is very hard to find because there is quite a lot of construction around. Difficult to actually get onto the The Bund because of this. The room was ok but small. Bath tub wouldn't drain. Too bad there's another high rise going up to partially block the view.

Davis and Morgan the concierge were exceptional
