The view was great and the staff at the front was so helpful. Though some of the guys had limited English, my Chinese is non existent so I should not complain. They really helped me navigate the city by asking them to write the destinations in Chinese.

My room had a column in the middle of the window, blocking part of the view. Can't do anything about the design flaw though.

The location of this hotel is very good. Easy to walk to everything nearby.That being said, the hotel is in need of MAJOR updating. While we had helpful staff who tried to assist us (and did) the hotel itself really needs a refresh. It is like stepping back in time. We had small nails sticking up on the seam of where the carpet and tile meet that my partner stepped on. The staff did address this and changed our room. While they were extremely kind, the place it self left much to be desired. The first room we had the TV wasn't working. We called the front desk at 9:30pm and someone did come up to sort it out but couldn't and said she would need to call engineering in the morning. I wish someone would check these things prior to guests checking in. I would like to say that the staff, particularly the manager during our stay did everything she could to try and help with the situation and make sure that my partner was okay. She was amazing and this review has absolutely nothing to do with her.

The breakfast area and food were terrible. I went down the first day and didn't go back. It is dark and dreary in the room and very outdated.

Location is very near to east Nanjing road. view from our room is amazing.Breakfast is very good quality and has many varieties for all culture.

For the price, I would have expected that breakfast would have been included.When booking with booking.com, I had thought breakfsst was included but in the fine print (which I did not notice, breakfast not included). Not very clear in the booking.com booking system

Gym - The only let-down of our 6-night stay. Used it for three times and not once it was adequately lit. During workouts, saw several guests in their gym outfits walked in but then pulled back a few minutes later, eventually leaving me and my partner the only guests there whenever onsite. As a 4-star hotel, its choice of gym equipment is also limited (e.g. Would be nice if there is a rowing machine). The vending machine was unstocked and no disinfectant supplies were provided.

The hotel is in a perfect location for visiting the city. It’s very close to the East Nanjing road and 20minutes walk from the Bund area.The room was very big and clean with all the comforts and the breakfast was good and with plenty of choices, both Chinese and continental.I would recommend this hotel for visiting Shanghai.

This hotel offers a fantastic location right in the heart of the city—perfect for exploring on foot. We were able to walk easily to the Bund and nearby shopping areas, which made sightseeing both convenient and enjoyable.The room itself exceeded expectations. It was exceptionally spacious, featuring a large bathroom, a huge bed, and even a small living room area—all part of a standard room! Great desk to work as well for a few days. Breakfast also impressed with a wide variety of choices, and the overall feel was one of affordable luxury. A nice touch was having the busboys bring our luggage up to the room after check-in, which added to the sense of good service.

There were a few areas where the experience fell short. Most notably, we were quite disappointed to find a live insect in a cereal bowl at the breakfast buffet. What was more concerning, however, was the lack of urgency or acknowledgment from the kitchen staff in addressing it. We would have appreciated a more proactive response in terms of removing the exposed items and offering an apology. To be honest, we did not raise much of an issue then out of courtesy to the hotel and the other guests at the time, so rather a 'thank you for your understanding' would have been in order from the hotel's side!The facilities, while showing signs of age, appear to be maintained with effort, though the age does show. There was a persistent food odour—possibly from a nearby kitchen—which lingered on our floor throughout the stay. Not a major issue, but noticeable enough to be a mild inconvenience. The internet connection was also unreliable, as several reviews had warned, and the front desk staff varied in demeanour—some were pleasantly polite, while others came across as rather abrupt, especially during payment.

lot's of stress with payment before the day of my booking. Somehow my card didn't work for payment (before I payed with this card on booking, everything was fine) But finally they let me to pay at the reception on the day of my arrival. Although it was still stresfull as my flight arrived at 6pm (+approx 2 hours to go to the hotel form the airport)the message from hotel was like this"Our hotel need pre-authorization to guarantee your room, but the credit card is not worked. The pos machine showed"Requested function not supported". If you arrive before 6pm, you don't need update your credit card information. We will keep the room until 6pm on arrival day."We came around 8pm and payed at the reception* important note +500 cny required for deposit while booking

Great hotel with lovely rooms. Comfy bed and good bathrooms. Loved our stay. The only thing that could be better is the breakfast selection.
