Sheraton Shanghai Waigaoqiao Hotel

Absolutely beautiful & classy decor. I love how they incorporate traditional Chinese decor into a modern luxury hotel. The antiques & wood carvings on display were awesome, the room was big, bathroom luxurious, big window, my favortie hotel ever

Location and friendliness

Our first room had a water leak and the curtain between the bathroom and sleeping area wouldn't shut. Our replacement room was decent, but the beds and pillows are not very comfortable.

The breakfast, bar and the club lounge must be improved.

We loved our stay, the staff were so helpful even helping us tell taxi drivers where to go for our early morning flight which took a lot of stress out of it, because there's a language barrier. Our room was so stunning, and absolutely huge. It's totally my fauly for not looking up the location properly, as it was 40 min taxi from The Bund etc, but it was really easy to get to the airport via taxi which is what we needed for our overnight layover in Shanghai. Overall, it was wonderful!

The pool, spa, steam room and sauna. The size of the room was good too.

The staff were very arrogant especially those at the front desk and at breakfast room. I have stayed at various different hotels of varying grades in China. This hotel has the worst service by far. They made the customers feel as though they do not have money to pay. They even charged me double the room charges for deposit. Their breakfast was nothing to write home about.

Stayed there just for transit. Not worthy of the high rating. Airco not working.

Airco not working, room in deplorabele state, lousy breakfast. No airport shuttle. Not worth the money.

I didn't opt for the breakfast as the price was steep at RMB 200/day . Otherwise everything was good but far away from Central Shanghai. The decor both inside the room and on the lobby was good

The room was spacious and clean. The interior design is neat and up to the standard for Marriott. The location is right next to the subway station where you can commute to the airport and high speed railway station quickly. The breakfast has many choices in the buffet. The cleaning staff are energetic, courteous, and proactive.

The AC was broken and when I requested it to be repaired, the staff came in delay to the point the room temperature hiked up to 30 celsius degree when outside temperature was around 10. I eventually requested to change to a different room and they reluctantly agreed.

Breakfast is vast and varied. Not all perfect, but generally quite satisfying! Salad bar was really goodCleaning staff are really efficient - The pool is nice, even if starting to show it's age.Very close to the metro stop!

VERY disappointed in the lounge. We booked a Club room to get access to Lounge services, we know we are still under COVID rules, but if Lounge services are offered, we expect a 5 star Sheraton to go the extra mile to welcome Club customers. This was not the case - we were stuck in the breakfast area for all lounge services, a basic canteen with broken coffee machines, very little variety in drinks, and basically no service.Other Lounges in other hotels clearly make an extra effort to welcome customers because of changes in lounge location - not here though. We felt like and after-thought to the staff.
