Holiday Inn Shanghai Pudong Kangqiao By IHG

Location is nice, relatively close to the airport by taxi. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, and there is a choice of pillows (soft&hard) which is a nice touch. Shuttle is available if agreed with advance (however we did not use it). There is a shopping center with supermarket and fast foods just next to the hotel, and some other stores around the hotel. Hotel also has restaurant, bar and room service. Metro station is also close, some 10-15 minutes walk.

Upon check-in, we were asked to pay a rather large deposit (500 CNY) even though Booking and my reservation do not state it anywhere in rules. However, it was refunded few days after check-out, but it would still be nice to inform the guests that deposit is expected.Pool receptionist - she waited until we are in bathing suits and ready to go, to tell us that we are not allowed to go without swimming caps. Again, this is not stated anywhere in rules, on reception, and we were not informed in advance.

Great 24 hour service and really nice staff. Gustav and Cindy were particularly helpful and their English skills were excellent! Many thanks to you two!

Neat and clean

No any staff was understanding english, only MOD(Managaer on duty) and Mr frank was good in english otherwise all staff they didn’t even understand single english word. So in this matter very bad experience

Cleanness and comfort

Breakfast for foreigners was not so sufficient.The finished items were not quickly recovered.

Stayed here many times and it's just great, location, staff and food.

The hotel has a great location. We enjoy the daily breakfast buffet. Staff are great.

The hotel needs some renovation, our bathroom was showing some wear. The carpets were stained and kind of dirty. Common area outside was in need of repair. Playground needed some care.

People and space, All the facilities are there, Suppermarkets and restaurant is near by. You can find KFC, Dominos etc

The hotel has a heated pool and a sauna and hammam which is open till 22 30.

The hotel is far from everything, even the subway station is far away. It is not worth staying there and then paying a taxi a high price to go anywhere. The most disappointing was my request for a taxi to go to the airport at 3am. Despite asking the reception guy several times how much the taxi will cost, he could not give an accurate answer. He suggested somewhere between 60-80¥. Upon depositing me at the airport, the driver charged me 180¥.The bed is too soft and gives back pain. The hotel does not have any room with open windows.There is only 1 small mall close to the hotel. Nothing interesting to see.I would recommend staying elsewhere, closer the the center in Shanghai.

Location (quite living area, 10 minutes walking to subway station), excellent breakfast, excellent "hanging" swimming pool, nice rooms and other public places, helpful staff.

The month passed but my companions still have not refunded with the deposit they put on check-in.

Service and the atmosphere at the entrance were excellent.

The room smelt like cigarette and the shower needed a proper clean.

It was convenient to the airport about 20 mins and about 20 mins to Disneyland the staff were super lovely from greeting outside to being helpful even with the limited English they went out of there way to accomodate me and my family.

you can not swim if you don’t have a swimming cap that was very strange to me and was far from center.

I haven't stayed on the oudong side of shanghai before but booked as it was inbetween the new airport and pearl tower which made it great for day trips.Room looked brand new, reception and housekeeping were very friendly and accomidation of my limited chineseLots of great malls and resturants within walking distance aswell as all the tourist hotspots being a 10-20 miniute rideshare100% would stay here again

Didn't try the onsite resturants so can't speak on those but i can't fault the hotelThere being 3 hokiday inns in a close proxinity does make for a interesting taxi ride if you picked the wrong one ?

Comfortable hotel, very clean and hospitably

Only one point to complain about, regarding the shower.A lot of water runs into the general bathroom area.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and kind. I had a great stay of 3 weeks and enjoyed also daily communication with the staff having a more personal feeling - feeling like home a little. Through my stay, they went above and beyond to ensure that I had everything needed and offering helpful recommendations on the way. The food was delicious and with great variety.I could only wish for future stays in other Hotels to be this pleasant. Would highly recommend.
