HUALUXE Shanghai Twelve At Hengshan

Always nice to be back at HUALUXE, convenient location and great environment.

They seemed to updated the ambient light control from my last visit, now you got 3 options but realistically only between “completely dark” and “full blown day lights”…

Hotel in my favorite part of Shanghai. Lots of pretty streets, great shops and cafes. Easy to get around. Line 1 station right next to hotel. Very serene hotel with spacious rooms.

No complaints

The breakfast was great! Mostly local food, which wasnt a problem for us. The room was massive and the staff were all really pleasant. The master light switch that turns everything off was something I didnt know I needed.

Some things looked a little worn and the toilet couldve been cleaner.

Staffs are very nice, all issues we mentioned were fixed at no time, we will come back again.

The location is great, next to the metro station and within distance to the French concession.

Our room had only lukewarm water, and despite sending an engineer, the issue was never resolved, leaving us quite disappointed. At checkout, the receptionist simply said she would make sure we have hot water next time. Additionally, the bathrooms in the lobby had an unpleasant odor and appeared run-down.

Original architectural idea and design is great! Respect to the authors!

The hotel in general needs renovation. Bad condition of the property. Half of the SPA functions were out of order. I made the decision with the choice of this hotel also because of a steam room and got a steam room with cold (!) floor and seat. No water massage. No cold shower. At reception I spend more than 40 min in conversation about the payment: the receptionist was making “magic tricks” with the variety of my Visa and Master cards - he wants me to go to the cash machine for some reason. I insisted on position that all of my cards are working well in Shanghai and the problem is just with that reception - so he work with bank card reader in a correct way and it accepts all the payment ….

Fantastic swimming pool (very large, great for swimming laps), a sauna, beautiful room, wonderful service, it had absolutely everything! I will certainly return!

Great location, calm and big room. Subway just around the building,yet very quiet. From outside looks really great, the representation is absolutely there. Staff was friendly.

Everything is pretty run down. The room was absolutely dirty! Maintenance and cleaning seize to exist. Bedsheets had holes and bathroom had a lot of deposits. The garbage bin as well as sink items are just downright broken and falling apart. Lamps partially didn’t work or not properly. The hallways are not different,so it is not an isolated problem. The bed has not seen any cleaning under it for a long time. Really a shame, the room really would have a lot to offer in terms of design.

in room lighting switches/options are terrible/confusing, design over function. Manageable though

Very nice location, very nice area.The hotel is nature friendly, arty, spacious, bright and very comfortable.And the breakfast has a wide selections of verieties.It is not the best hotel but my favorite hotel in Shanghai.

WiFi is a serious problem. If you have a MAC book you won’t get online If you have another computer the issues are big as well as you cannot use your own VPNAs an hotel that caters also for foreigners they really need to improve

Bedding was very comfortable, Tyler Jin at reception was excellent at check in.

If you expect a 5 star service and product you'd better off going elsewhere. Room was spacious but old, not well kept. I had issues with my allocated room on arrival with bad smell and air conditioning not working, reception at check-in (midnight) was patient and understanding. However the overall impression of the hotel and it's facilities are tired and there is a general "laziness" feel to it, no greetings when you walk in, no evidence to show it's a 5 star property either by people or the quality of the facilities. The TV only show local channels , no smart player device to connect, they still use mini- bottles shower gels and shampoo which is very environmentally un-friendly, not to mention the scent of shower gel are very dominant male scent which is very off-putting. The light switches of room are confusing, air conditioning is weaker than the lobby and corridor... Overall an unpleasant stay, and I won't be returning.

Beautiful property in the heart of shanghai. The room was very spacious and well designed.All amenities were good. Staff was very helpful and accommodating.

The concierge staff was particularly helpful with taxis, communicating with vendors, helping to manage very large luggage. The breakfast offerings were massive and tasty - something for absolutely every taste. There is a lovey terrace that would be very enjoyable when the weather is cooler.

Beautifully designed hotel with a nice garden. Spacious rooms. Good location and convenient to several metro lines. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Air conditioning was suboptimal in our room facing the west (it was 39C outside), but hotel staff quickly switched us to another room, which was perfect. Hammam and sonna didn’t work properly.

Toilet cleanliness can be better especially bathtub can be cleaner. Shower area is too long and places to store the shampoo and shower gel are too far from shower area. Water discharge area is "black".

Staff are very friendly. When we need extra towel and waters, they will deliver to our room.

Strange kiosks and non-hotel owned businesses operating in lobby. Not very IHG-like. But the room was nice and comfortable. A very large twin room with a huge bathroom that had a shower and tub. If you can overlook that, you will be fine. The architecture seems to have won some kind of excellent design award.
