Maxx by Steigenberger on the Bund Shanghai

My only complaint about the room is that it is too dark, both inside the room and in the washroom. There's also no soap provided to the sink inside the toilet room, where you really need a good hand wash.

location near the Bund; take a leisure walk along the beautiful Bund; a few steps away form the best Italian cuisine at Mercato; hotel has one of the best breakfasts that we have ever had; easy access subway line 2 takes tourists everywhere;

Location of the hotel is great, very nice hotel rooms and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

My hotel room AC was broken along with a couple of other minor things, such as the light in the closet and the volume for the room music. Th hotel was quick to fix the AC and they gave me a free dinner which was very nice, though the food was very bad.

The architectural quality and decor together with the location

The quality of the room and hotel location

Amazing location and room was wonderful , clean and roomy. Staff was excellent. Want to extend a special thanks to Ross. Went above and beyond.

great location

Room not clean enough. Stayed for three nights, didn’t get chance to see anyone at the front desk smile

Location is great, easy access to both The Bund walking area & shopping areas nearby. Some of the rooms have great view.

Probably was unlucky and got a leaking bathtub and leaking water in the bathroom overall.

The studio with river view has the view from the bathroom. The layout of the room is this way. From the pictures it didn't show that the window is in tye bathroom but in the bedroom.

Very good location and comfortable rooms at a good price

Just a couple of employees speak english

Great location and great view. The room was stylish and clean.

They are so kind & helpful. Always smile and welcome. The room service was as expected and cleaning team was very helpful and friendly.

Location-wise perfect, front desk service not so much

One of the women who checked us in was not very pleasant . The few times I needed something from the front desk, it felt like I was bothering her and an inconvenience. Responded very rudely when I let her know our kettle machine wasn’t working in our room. Door man however, was very helpful and assisted us.

Great location, very well-connected.

Most of the staff does not speek English. Definitely not an "International/ Steigenberger atmosphere".

great location

The room was noisy, at midnight I contacted the desk, someone came up said they couldnt hear it and couldnt speak english so were trying to communicate through phone - at 1230 an engineer arrived and couldnt speak any english, I went to desk and got another room but then it was 1am so got hardly any sleep. We also got stuck in the lift for 10 minutes and staff were unhelpful and rude did not apologise. No staff spoke english, no one asked how our stay was, room was not cleaned well. The location is great but the staff let down the hotel.

Language is a problem is you can’t speak chinese. TV has no international channels. Best was the free self serve laundry

The location is fantastic, just a stone’s throw away from the Bund and faces the beautiful Pearl TV tower. Also within walking distance from the Yu Garden.

The train station is not particular near and requires 10-15 min walk.

Our suite room with the river view was fantastic, could see the Oriental TV tower across the Bund. Shower was very spacious, room very clean and all the amenities were provided. Room service was exceptional and the staff frequently provided extra towels and bottles of water. Very close walk to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and nearby attractions.

Only thing was our bath didn't run as we'd like and the tap pressure wasn't great.

Good location and convenient facility for self service laundry within the hotel. AI usage of robots for delivery of Meituan and in room necessities.

Poor air conditioning system, temperature unable to go below 25 degrees, was stuffy throughout the stay. Malfunction of hot and cold water system in the bathroom caused much inconvenience during our stay. Staffs were not able to solve the issues.

Location.

The toilet didn’t flush properly, so they placed a bin in the bathroom for used toilet paper—a disgusting solution for a five-star hotel. When questioned, they claimed the pipes were too narrow, causing frequent blockages. Additionally, my friend had paid for me to have a river view but I was given a room facing the back of the building. I also paid for a reservation expecting to combine rooms, only to be told it wasn't possible, and that my room was supposedly better, which it clearly wasn’t.
