The only good thing was that the hotel was clean.

Unfortunately, there was always a very bad smell in the lobby, and at night it was extremely noisy — it was impossible to get any rest.

The smell from lobby to the elevators was disgusting And they didn’t Make up the room properly for 3 daysI asked them twice to do it but no body came

Poor light design

I hv been travelling and staying in all kinds of hotel from the expensive to the cheap one. Never have I ever encountered the strange lighting design of Maxx. Firstly the wordings on the switches are so faint and tiny. A person with long sighted won’t able to tell what switch is for what. The naming are strange too for a tale to tell. Up rim ceiling light is called “appreciation.” Light for the kettle table is called “working.” I believed many have the same practice to turn on a small corridor or toilet light during sleep so to find its way to the toilet. Some would like to hv a little lights on in unfamiliar place for a peace of mind. Unfortunately you just can’t hv it the way you want. The toilet or corridor lights are linked to some other lights inside the bedroom. So you can’t just darken the bedroom. Then there is a switch named “sleeping.” Pressing this will override all and will leave you in total darkness. There seems no way to have a tiny light on. It took me substantial time trying to figure it out but to no avail. Apart from the light fiasco, the breakfast has a wide variety, the staff is polite and helpful. They help me to register for a free visit to the museum which I didn’t know must booked in advance. So kudos to the staff but thumbs down for the lighting design. It’s actually a no brainer but the way the lights designed made me having an unpleasant sleep. For this I hv to rate it as poor because they can’t even design a proper light system.

The hotel room is very comfortable and spacious. Location is about 7 minutes walk to Zhujiang Xincheng MRT station. The hotel is close to eateries and malls. Overall it was a very pleasant stay!

Nothing that I dislike. The hotel is not located on the ground floor. Its main lobby is on the 5th floor of a building. So the hotel presence might not be obvious when you are searching for it the first time. But it is not a big issue.

Facility was amazing but the staff was more focused on domestic guests as they know veey little english

Language barrier between the staff and the entrance of the hotel was not shared properly as the reception was in the 5th floor of the building.

Staff bad understanding english. Breakfast was poor, omelette and scrambled eggs look the same. Man prepare omelette with additional on his view, not based on order.

The property is in a very good location with clean and spacious rooms. The bell boys, cleaning ladies were very polite and willing to help at any case.

The instructions to enter the hotel at 5th floor should be mentioned properly and the stuff should be able to speak English more fluently to avoid confusion that they caused in room chargers, guarantee etch. So in general a bit more expensive for what they offer.

poor service terrible experience this hotel they don't have a name of the hotel outside lobby in diferente floor this is not hotel this is Residential apartment room doesn't have internet they come up 2 person of the stuff they can't fixed the problem Booking . com they make me upset for description they have about this location never ever i used booking.com

The rooms are very big, breakfast has many options and also freshly prepared by cooks, location is very good - easy to grab a taxi and get to the subway, lots of restaurants nearby with Happy Monk just downstairs in the same building

no English channels in TV and overall TV system seems very complicated and addressed to locals mostly.

its a great hotel a little hidden but definitely worth staying in; big rooms, all seems to be quite new and fresh. breakfast has many options also freshly prepared by cooks. location is prefect - minutes away from subway, the park and the tower, also not a big problem with taking a taxi.

Will surele be booked to MaxX the next time we go to Guangzhou. Location, facilities, access, hotel people are great. Though I would suggest better or more breakfast options.

Location is amazing! Staff is hardworking and really want to help, but since they are mo more Mercure brand, you notice they have gone step down in service…

Because in the past years whenever i was in Guangzhou, i have stayed at this hotel, i imediately noticed the difference that this was not only a name change… Most notably the Breakfst, they have changed the place where breakfast is served, to much crowd, less choice and very bad organisation overall, to take a glass for water you had to bent down and dig deep in the drawer! Shamefull! Alao the Shuttle bus service to the Fair was disaster, very old buses! Dust & noise and pure discomfort inside! Nit sure i will go back to this hotel again!
