    Pros +

    • Absolutely nothing. Food was terrible, location far away from attractions, shops and restaurants.
    • The room was cosy and the staff friendly. The location was perfect for someone visiting the Australian National University
    • This is a great location. Walking distance to National Film and Sound Archive, restaurants, cafes and cinema. The rooms are quiet, spacious and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

    Cons -

    • Hotel hallways are dark with one tube light, almost a scene from scary movie. Food options are horrible, in fact, i got stomach virus from the breakfast. I never ate from the hotel again. Hotel is far away from any shops and restaurants. Will not return.
    • The furnishings in the room were a little dated. Bed head was peeling and there were some marks on the walls. This did not take away from our overall positive experience, just something to consider.
    • I had a dirty towel but given I was the only using the room and there's was a second towel, it was fine. It didn't state on Booking.com that the hotel was under renovation so restaurant wasn't' available but in the end it made no difference to my stay. Parking is a little tricky as it's off site and a bit of a maze to get to but directions were good.

Room was lovely, fully equipped with everything I needed. Bed was great. Staff were great. Natural light and layout of the room were great.

nice front desk staff, decent room amenities (coffee, soap etc)

horrible sheets, very tired and shoddy furniture. average lighting, missing basics like shower cap.

    5ZoePosted on: 1-26-2026

It suited our needs, was clean and well presented, was budget friendly and the receptionist upon getting was incredibly helpful.

The bathroom design was terrible. The shower flooded into it and the sink overflowed, flooding the whole bathroom. Honesty, the worst design I’ve ever seen. Had to use our towels to mop up and when I told the receptionist at checkout, he immediately dismissed it. No apology or acknowledgment of the terrible design. It was stressful for my daughter and me, as we were worried about damaging property.

    Location

Furnitures are very old, not match with this brand. The sink is designed in a very modern style, but the water flows faster than the drain can handle. It was terrible.

I didn't eat breakfast at the hotel

Offering a cheaper continental breakfast instead of the full price breakfast

    5MegPosted on: 1-9-2026

    The location was pretty good..

Room was tiny for the price, no toaster or cutlery. Was much bigger in the photos. Was a big let down

    8SandraPosted on: 1-2-2026

    Bed very comfortable

Far way from the city centre to walk and no breakfast in the premises

    3ValPosted on: 1-1-2026

I like the location and staff were friendly

The bed was really uncomfortable. Very saggy.

    8AngusPosted on: 1-1-2026

    Fantastic location.

The room was too cold, aircon too high.

    10RoyPosted on: 12-20-2025

The staff were incredibly helpful and lovely to deal with.

The weird patterns on the ceiling and lighting in the bathroom was not great for applying makeup.

    6RebeccaPosted on: 12-20-2025

The bathroom was lovely, large bath and spacious.

Teeny tiny bedroom, the bedroom and bathroom were the same size. You are also right on the street front, made me a little nervous with the opening windows.

We stayed in the king room with bath - room was very clean and comfortable.

Peppers is in a good location, easy walk to the city.

    6KenPosted on: 11-24-2025

    Location

Expensive for a very small room, parking fees are ridiculous especially when on weekends parking out the front is free.

    8AnnabellePosted on: 11-16-2025

Very large and comfortable room, bright and calm

The hotel is listed as having parking which is one of the main reasons we picked it, but didnt realise the hotel charges extra $40 per night for the parking which is ridiculous. Luckily parking on the street was free because it was the weekend but we won't stay there again if during the week.

    7DavidPosted on: 11-10-2025

Good location, reasonable pricing and very helpful staff.

Overall it felt like the bathroom could do with some updating and the room entertainment could benefit from an update..

    4ChristopherPosted on: 11-3-2025

    Good location

Very overpriced. We paid $360 a night, and it really is a glorified hostel. Fair value, I think, is maybe $150.

    3JoPosted on: 10-26-2025

    Would not stay again

Our room was very dark. On the website all rooms are light and airy. This room was painted chocolate brown. Whilst the bed was comfy the bed head (some sort of vinyl coated thing) was falling apart, ripped up and torn. It was terrible. There were cobwebs in the room. Holes in the wall. No toiletries supplied. The arm chair (that was just about floor level) was covered in dust. The location was great near ANU but the state of the room for $250 so bad. And car parking was so far way.
