    Pros +

    • Great historic and charming hote.Great spa and gym.Very comfy bed and pillows, helpful small desk for work.Super convenient self serve area for drinks, snacks and breakfast boxes - perfect for business travel. Good price compared to other Canberra options.
    • I have stayed many times at the Brassey and always liked its old world charm.
    • Location to Kingston Waterfront and Realm bar

    Cons -

    • Our room was sprayed with air freshener or perfume that was incredibly strong. Open windows, air conditioner made little difference. It made us both feel unwell. Plus the room was noisy perhaps because we needed the windows open. Lastly the facility that offers tea and coffee, snacks etc was locked up early in the evening.
    • Noise from other room
    • No onsite bar/restaurant. But there were several in the next block and staff were really great with recommendations.

Great location. Clean, well presented and charming. Very friendly and helpful staff. Value for money. POD coffee machine in room a lovely extra.

No onsite bar/restaurant. But there were several in the next block and staff were really great with recommendations.

They didn't serve breakfast..only a room with boxed cereal..Complimentary coffee and tea.

Air conditioner directly over bed head...with no remote..,,and ac very noisy..Chipprd paint work, and no room and facilities guide other than qr scanner..Cockroach in room,.hard to reach light switch behind TV.., TV antenna cablewas unplugged..

    Quiet, easy access

    Bed too soft

    9JohnPosted on: 2-20-2026

Great location. Charming old building. Nice size room and ensuite.

A lift would be good, but it didn’t really affect my stay. Hot water took a while to come through in the shower.

    5AlisonPosted on: 2-20-2026

Gym, coffee station, leafy environment, clean, easy walk to Manuka and Kingston cafes

Multiple hvac units within a few metres of bed kicking on and off all night. Free gym shower in next room running frequently. High pitched electric sounds on and off, noise similar to truck air brakes going off during the night. High traffic area vacuum cleaner used often

    10ChristinePosted on: 2-20-2026

Comfortable bed and pillow, extremely quite

    Room was a little small

    7EvelynPosted on: 2-18-2026

The garden space with beautiful trees and landscaping.Easy quick check in

The room basically!!Dingy and dark, with poor lighting, no fresh air! An awful drab feel to the space.

    8AlisonPosted on: 2-16-2026

It is always clean and pleasant. Easy parking. In an excellent location.

Bathroom was wheelchair accessible with a shower curtain. However the curtain rail was high so curtain was short and needed a wider area. Using double curtain method stops the curtain coming in and limiting shower space.

    Cleanliness and the location

Would have been better if breakfast was included

Very nice & helpful staff. After a long drive from Sydney we arrived earlier than the check in time & needed a place to chaneg, as the room was ready they gave us an earlier check in which was highly appreciated.Very clean. The tea & coffee facilities in the room & next to the reception.Beautiful & peaceful garden. The locations for us was perfect next to the church.Very comfortable bed.Unfortunately we did not have a chance to use any of the other facilities so we can't comment on,

We really enjoyed our stay at Brassey Hotel. The location is second to none, the staff are excellent and attentive, and the value for money is pretty unmatched! The grounds are really lovely. We’d definitely stay here again!

It’s worth noting there are stairs up to the various levels of the property, so it’s not very accessible.

    8MariannePosted on: 2-13-2026

    Super comfy bed....great shower

Didnt offer a TV with ability to Cast or Netflix prime etc

    9JuliaPosted on: 2-11-2026

Room very good for a 3-3.5 star hotel. A good bed. One armchair (standard room). An excellent shower room. A calm and peaceful hotel and location.

    9JoannaPosted on: 2-11-2026

I love traditional, heritage-y buildings, so staying in a place that honours this was a treat. The place had all modern facilities and also a SPA (which sadly was closed for public holiday), however reception was more than happy to recommend other locations.

I think the cleaning could be performed more diligently in those hard to reach nooks and crannies like behind bed. The redundant ceiling fan/grill needed some TLC too.

    9SarahPosted on: 2-11-2026

Large comfortable rooms. Great restaurant precinct adjacent to the hotel and easily accessible for guests.

    5EmmaPosted on: 2-9-2026

The beds were big and comfortable

Shaved hair not cleaned up from the bathroom, so much hair in the bed too that it made us question if the bedding had been changed. No lift, not accessible friendly so be prepared to haul your luggage up tight staircases. Pool is in the sister hotel, no pool there. Travelling through Australia, first bad review given. I wouldn't say it was a great hotel.
