    Pros +

    • Not much to like. It looks modern but it's definately not 5 star
    • Spacious room with all the amenities.
    • Location was great. clean but small rooms.

    Cons -

    • Check in experience wasn't great cant be a 5 star hotel when you tell your guest to park on the street and make sure you move it early in the mornjng
    • Parking is a major issue. Trying to contact the hotel to check on the parking is impossible. Housekeeping is really poor.
    • The fact that I had rung about parking and was told yes you organise it on the day. Then when we get here all the parking has to be prebooked. Thankfully there was a parking station nearby and it wasn't peak period. If that was full it would have been down the road a block. Not good enough. Please have in bold writing parking MUST be prebooked when booking with any booking sites. Also in future may all Meritons have a driveway that comes up to the hotel for off loading of luggage and getting the key to the hotel before parking. As my husband had to park a fair distance away from the hotel and get children and luggage over whilst I checked in. Toilet was flushing waste away but not toilet paper not matter how hard I tried quite odd!!! TV was odd, very hard to get to a normal channel, had to ask for help. And we turn off the TV and kept finding it on again. 3 am the first night as I was on my way to the kitchen for a drink, turned it off. Then again at 5am it was on again. Then again the next night 2am it was on again and again at 6:30am, when we woke up. Are multiple remotes sync to one TV?? Ie someone in another apartment uses the remote and it turns on our TV??? Small bedrooms and beds were a little hard, we couldnt wait to get home. Not all meritons are the same.

    Never again

I'm a photographer who was booked to shoot a specific angle of the NYE fireworks. My PA spent hours researching the area, measuring the height of buildings, etc, and was able to narrow down the location to basically any room above the 10th floor on one side of the building. She clearly communicated the requirements of the shoot, the specific rooms that were suitable, and requested that we be informed immediately if our request couldn't be accommodated so that we could cancel and rebook a more suitable location. We gave Meriton three separate chances to advise us of this, one they half answered and the other two were ignored. On arrival I was placed in a room below what we'd specified, despite Meriton never advising us that the request wasn't possible. The day cost over $3500 in total to set up, which I'm now out of pocket thanks to the Canberra Meriton's lack of communication. The toilet didn't flush properly, no ice trays (but of course they'll sell you ice), room was completely bare with no spare blankets or anything, staff were unfriendly, not at all worth it.

It is central and very new and clean

We got the mini suite, if you are booking here DO NOT GET THE MINI SUITE!!! in the description it says no views, which is pretty common, these rooms have no natural light, the windows look out to other windows built around with an empty square in the middle, you have to have the lights on all the time, you don’t know what the weather is like outside!! We called it the dungeon. Maybe if we had another room with any type of view at all our stay might have been different, you just can’t stay in the room, you get cabin fever

    Location, room size, amenities.

No cafe. My coffeee pods were not replenished. After 3 days, someone came and kept replacement towels on a table, not a nice gesture.

We had a pleasant stay at Meriton Suites Canberra. The location is excellent - within easy walking distance to Canberra Centre. The rooms are new, clean and well-equipped. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It was also nice that the swimming pool wasn’t too crowded.

We were unable to connect our Android tablets to the hotel’s internet, which was a bit inconvenient. The pool water was also a little cold.

Great location, walking distance to Floriade, to shopping area and cafe, comfy beds and clean bed sheets. Very friendly customer services.

Parking registration needs to be in advance. But the walking distance to other parking luckily is very close.

Reception staff were great and easy to check in. The suite was spacious, clean and had modern appliances with well stocked provisions. Ensuite bathroom was spacious with large shower and separate bath, guest bathroom was good with shower only. In suite laundry facilities were very good. Heating/cooling was efficient. Comfortable seating.

Beds were large but uncomfortable with all guests mentioning it. Tv's logged into hotel wifi but would not connect to internet.....strange. Hotel had 4 elevators but at times we waited a few minutes for one to arrive at ground level as their system allocated an elevator on selection of floor...while none of the other 3 were in use. At one time another person chose an elevator which arrived before ours?

The suites were spacious and exceptionally clean. Quality toiletries and staff were responsive and eager to please. The pool and gym facilities were amazing!

Location was very handy and within walking distance to many great bars and restaurants. Felt safe walking around. Parking was full but we parked on the street and it was fine but you just need to remember to top up the meter as needed. The property itself was modern and quite new and the rooms were spacious and very well appointed with full amenities which is handy for a longer stay or just to spread out and have your own room. Lovely indoor spa, pool and sauna but we didn't use it but will next time and there will be a next time :)

Free parking downstairs would've been much appreciated considering the room rates.
