    • Location was good

    Cons -

    • Front office not open for long. 9.30 am till 2.30 pm, so hard to find them
    • Smelt weird. Pretty dirty. Laundry was $24 for one load wash and dry which feels like daylight robbery.
    • Zac Harrison a long term guest threw chilli in face in an unprovoked assault. Someone stole my $800 drone from a locked room, and a staff member looked very guilty everytime it was mentioned. Food thown out. Rude manager who never blowers the butts like hes supposed to. Literally the worst customer service of a manager you could possibly imagine. Never smiles. Want a discount? Nah he'll find fees to add. Caretaker joked repeatedly about mutilating my genitals. Zac and Indian Jay long term sit in the kitchen staring at young women cook, for 6 hours, making them feel uncomfortable daily. Broken night entrance door. Lots of rats and cigarette butts at entrance. Nasty neighbour baker trying to vilify me constantly, which is completely illegal.

The social network. The friends I made.

    The friends

Most of it is gross. Not too friendly and the caretaker says hes nice but is definitely not. Maliciousness, selfishness, drinks during work.

    1ForestPosted on: 2-18-2026

    Location

Nasty 60 year old caretaker proudly preys upon young women guests, particularly short asian women.

    1ForestPosted on: 2-18-2026

The prospect of a long term home.

Being banned without any reason, after being offered a long term room by the owner, 3 days after being assaulted by another long term guest. That violent guest has lost his temper at young women twice before and was not kicked out, still there. He preys upon young female backpackers. The kitchen is not cleaned at night feeding a cockroach problem. The older brother owner then claimed some drug user stigmatized association, as an excuse for his illegal gullibility for targeted discrimination.I hold a current national police check, have a glowing Queensland Police character and ethics reference, and do not use illicit drugs, drink or smoke and am drug tested regularly for work. You will regret staying here guaranteed.

The location, and the room I was in was split in 2, with 2 beds in two small rooms so more privacy. Bathroom was clean.

It’s old, not maintained well and kitchen was a bit dirty.

    5TomPosted on: 2-16-2026

    Location was good

I don’t know the going rate of backpackers but a single bed for 2 nights at over $200 is wild to me. Considering the curtain was falling off its rod, and the bed was tattered and torn, it was spenno. I was also unlucky to be in a room next to the smokers section so naturally the noise and smell travelled.

Great location in the cbd. My bed was comfortable.

This place is dark and cavernous. It feels like it’s slowly crumbling apart. I guess you get what you pay for.

I love having my own bed and the bed being made when I got there! I loved the Clean bathrooms and the Colored doors of all the different rooms!

Very welcoming place, comfortable, great unforgettable people and staffThis hostel is not perfect but I had a great time here, definitely deserve a higher rating

Some few things like kitchen closing, reception not often open, laundry system annoying

    5CoxPosted on: 2-11-2026

    Great location and good price

Kitchen was messy and showers were moldy.

The location is perfect and there is so much potential to make this a great place to stay.

The properly is very old and run down. There is a definite smell about the place. It could do with an entire refurbishment. The communal lounge is a huge lost space. There’s definitely room for a kitchen or at least an area for a fridge, microwave, toaster etc. I got the vibe that there are a lot of long term tenants staying here as there were a lot of people leaving in uniform in the morning. Could be such a great spot but needs some serious work.

The beds and homey feel of the lounges

A couple floor lamps to light the room would be nice so you dont have to turn on the full room light to disturb others

    9TamarynPosted on: 1-23-2026

Met some really cool people, comfy beds, and heaps of space. Staff are super helpful. Great location at a fair price.

Some of the new people would let the door slam everytime they went in and out, even when everyone else was clearly trying to sleep

    1JainPosted on: 1-21-2026

It would have been cheap but I was charged twice.

The booking website charged me twice for the rooms and I didnt get the proper booking. The manager argued that it was not showing the proper booking on hos system. There was foul smell all night long

    5NattharadaPosted on: 1-20-2026

The location of the hostel is so great located in the middle of Hobart city. If you trasport by skybus from the airport will took only 20 mins and the bus stop is just a few step away from the hotel

There is no Lift in on hostel (ONLY STAIR). I traveled with the 40kg luggage and requested to stay on 1st floor but the staff didnt check my request and they put me on level 3.

    3BrianPosted on: 1-19-2026

    Cheapish and good location.

Bit of a smell of must. Luggage storage finishes at three.

    Great location

Very loud, can hear everything in the corridor from the room. Room was repeatedly left unlocked. Dirty room and very dark
