Riverfront Motel & Restaurant

It was cozy and near the water.

We intentionally chose this location because we had a car and it is near MONA. Some people without personal transportation might find it a bit far from Hobart but we were fine driving in.

We absolutely loved the view. We couldn't have hoped for a better location. Totally and utter waterfront. Views for miles including Mona. With gorgeous friendly ducks and wildlife and a lap pool. The house was huge!! Never had such big bedrooms. Honestly can't fault it. We could only book in for two nights and sadly not the four we tried for. We absolutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was right next to a main highway so it was a bit noisy. There was a nice walk down along the riverside, and it wasn't too far out of town. The restaurant was very good. The food was good and the price was reasonable.

The location wasn't great - right next to a main highway. The bed was ok but the pillows were flat. The room was fairly basic but it had what we needed for the short time we stayed there.

Simple, not pretentious, very close to MONA, great views from unit, parking, hot water and good water stream, generous with coffee milk and biscuits

It is not well insulated, cold air comes through openings in the door and the flap windows , the worst thing is they advertise there is WiFi BUT there is no WiFi reception in the rooms and it doesnot seem to bother them, I had to sit at midnight outside at 11 degrees outside of the lobby to work with my laptop, in 2026 no normal hotel should be without WiFi in the rooms !!!

The room location was right on the waterfront, and every sunrise and sunset was amazing and worthwhile to get up and look at. I liked that there were small animals like ducks, rabbits and seabirds at the location, it gave adults and children something to watch when they stepped outside. I liked the cleanliness of the shower and the pressure of the water. I liked that the hotel was close to the city. The hotel rooms were well priced for a short stay. The hotel was lovely, and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The things that could have been better is that the animals did not disrupt your stay but the cement outside the room probably could use a wash once every 2 days or a hose could be available to patrons to use if needed. Wifi could be updated into the hotel rooms not just available at the reception area. The cupboards could be updated but by the end of my stay, I enjoyed the old blended in with the new. It was lovely to step away from all the hustle and bustle and be able to sit and relax at the hotel.

Excellent river view, ample parking, location was good and quiet rooms.

It was nice to start the visit with Happy Hour. Liked the breakfast options. Room service dinner options were easy & fast. Enjoyed the river walkway and the ducks.

Watching a baby duck get eaten by a raven was a bummer, but that was no fault of the property.

Good size 2 bedroom apartment with all necessary appliances.

$50 extra if we didn’t wash dishes by ourselves as we leave. I never had to wash dishes in a hotel!Also, our two bedroom unit didn’t have washing machine.

Room was clean and tidy, old but in good condition.Nice enough view of the river from our room.

The window louvers didn't close properly though, so there was a constant cold air draught, and the noise from the freeway came straight into the room.

The motel is situated in front of Derwent River which really provides excellent view, also there are ducks everywhere which my daughter really loved. Location is also great- it is really close to MONA and about 15 minutes drive to Hobart CBD. Getting in and out of the motel is also easy.Food in the restaurant is also excellent .Motel and Restaurant staff are really friendly.

I can hear noise from outside including other guests.No microwave in the room - it is shared and located in the laundry roomNil AC but with portable heater and heated blankets.Nil blinds nor privacy tint on the bathroom windows.

The backyard area was nice with river views. The room was clean and the staff were very nice.

Room is quite a bit smaller than expected. There’s no Wi-Fi signal in the room.

We just stayed for 1 night the room was ok but the bathrooms in the room we received were not maintained well.

Peaceful riverside view with rear access to relaxation seating .Clean basic room and noise policy was excellent nothing after 9 pm heard .Staff were friendly inc the housekeeping supervisor helped me out checking out . I'll stay again for sure .

Lovely easy process, food delivered for room service was in time and hot. Had a great experience

If I was picky, just out room service brekky order, the toast was quite black and I had ordered soy milk but ended up with normal milk in my hot drink.
