- Location and convenience
- Great place! Awesome location for exploring Hobart on foot. Lots of convenient amenities for backpacking travelers like a free place to leave luggage for a few days, free food items and extra camp fuel laying around, etc. Even on New Year's Eve guests were quiet upstairs. Recommended for simple stays!
Cons -
- Bed bugs - I have insect bites all over my back Not enough toilets to accommodate numbers of guests - just two and always someone else is using
- Owner was rather rude to us.The bathrooms were not clean.
- The vibe of the hostel was a bit of a downer. Some people are there for a long time and don’t really talk to anyone. People did their own thing.

Good location
Owner was rather rude to us.The bathrooms were not clean.
Really beautiful neighborhood, backyard view of Mt. Wellington has an amazing sunset. Guests were friendly from all over the world. The house is charming & the communal kitchen & dining room is a great way to meet other guests.
Big kitchen, location is wonderful and very cute.

The building is very cool and people very friendly. Everything is nice and clean, and located in very cute area of Tasmania .
Bed room was clean, the kitchen area was spacious! towel and hairdryer were provided.
Really really convenient location if you’re primarily in and around the CBD. Antony is extremely friendly and the rooms are lovely and cosy.
Could have been a little cleaner — the underside of my duvet was kind of dirty. Also, the property felt safe enough anyway, but lockers for valuable items would have been appreciated!
Very cute property, friendly host, well stocked kitchen, plenty of washrooms, comfy beds, good location, easy to walk to everything.
Very cold in the rooms. Could use some maintenance. My room had several big holes in the windows that had just been taped over, the doors didn’t lock (both to my room & to the outside), no place to lock up your stuff.
Very comfortable queen bed room, warm heater, and stuff is nice.
During the weekend there were too many cars, sometimes no vacancy to park.
I love the spacious kitchen and the location. Battery point is beautiful!
This place really sets the standard of what a hostel should be. It’s the best I’ve seen in Australia in terms of cleanliness, comfort and affordability. Location a perfect short walk down to Salamanca. Lots of places to sit and chill — loved the outside balcony the most! Plenty of space in the kitchen to cook and store food. Beds were very comfortable. Plenty of bathrooms and toilets to choose from. A recent review said men and women share bathrooms but I think this is deceiving — the bathrooms are a private, enclosed space with toilet, sink and shower, plus a lock on the door. You are not sharing the room with other people while in use!
A female, older, seemingly long-term staying guest in my room was quite disruptive and rude — not the hostel’s fault of course but she seemed to be “ruling the roost” trying to tell people what to do. This is the danger of allowing long-term stays.
Location is perfect and easy to park close by Excellent quality price ratio and staff is very nice
Poor insulation
Close to salamanca market
Toilets and shower are a bit small and shared among mens and womens.
Nice boutique feel and Anthony is helpful and friendly. Plenty of bathrooms and showers. Rooms are clean. Free onsite parking. Central location. Lots of fridge and food storage space and equipped kitchen. Bed was average comfort, but good enough and clean.
Super comfy beds and nice atmosphere. Nice balcony and garden seats too
Very friendly n helpful staff, comfortable beds with great cotton sheets, lots of room in kitchen with plenty of equipment and separate dining area, 12 min walk to the wharves and sky bus stop. 8 bed female dorm a bit squeezy but 4 bed dorm well worth extra few $$. Quiet location off main street and free parking. Could do with extra bathroom n toilet on ground floor but overall a very nice place to stay!!
My stay was for 6 nights. Location excellent. Beds comfortable. Dorm floor space a little confined. Shower sometimes a bit of a queueKitchen facilities and fridges adequate. Owner = the staffPhotos on website quite outdated
Cute and tidy, quiet at night
Forgot to bring shampoo, conditioner and body soap and they don't provide them
