The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart

I thought the desceiption suggested there'd be 2 rooms, so there was some confusion to start with. But overall very happy with experience.

The fantastic location. Very comfortable room with views. I also loved the restaurant and Mary Mary bar being easy to access.

We had a fabulous room upgrade to a luxury suite. Felt very blessed to have experienced such a stately room. Amazing restaurant, breakfast and super lovely staff. Thankyou for an incredible stay.

There was nothing at all to dislike.

It was a beautiful property with amazing amenities and very well furnished rooms. The service was 10/10, friendly and very helpful at all times. As we were celebrating our anniversary, they even gave us a complimentary room upgrade for our stay. They also provided us with extended luggage storage as we were returning in a few days after. The gym also had everything we needed for a quick basic weightlifting workout, which really made our experience even better. I would highly recommend this.

The pillows were a bit high for us

Pillow was a big high for us

The staff were so friendly and helpful!! The room spacious, comfortable and clean!! The location was perfect for our stay and an easy walk to the City or the waterfront!!

Enjoyed the food and ambience of Mary Mary for drinks and a light dinner. The buffet at Peppina provided a wide range of options for breakfast but couldn’t get in for dinner as it was booked out two nights. Book early!

Excellent location with walking distance to cafes and restaurants , wharf and MONA ferry.Adjacent to Salamanca Markets ( Saturdays only ) Excellent Peppina Restaurant onsite.Rooms are large and comfortable in Hertiage Building.Friendly staff Extra charges for parking.

Location was excellent - very close to Salamanca markets pubs & restaurants and Waterfront piers including the Mona Ferry. They have a very good restaurant Peppina and a fantastic cocktail bar called Mary Mary which both have their own entrance and don’t feel like Hotel venues. Service was great and one of the best Hotels I have stayed at in Australia.

The only negative I can find might sound petty but the bathroom towels are thin and seem cheap and scratchy. Plush thick towels are expected in this standard of hotel.

Lovely hotel nice and close to the waterfront. Beautiful room and bathroom and the cooked breakfast was so good, plenty of choice and great quality. How this is one of the top 50 hotels in the world though?

Disappointed with the bar facilities at night. The one by reception closed at 5 and the only one open (MaryMary) was pre-booked with large parties some nights so we were forced to go outside the hotel to have a drink.

Staff is very helpful and friendly. Bed is comfortable, pillows are excellent and a very nice bathroom. Impressive building and excellent location.

Really not a big issue , but the breakfast spread could have been a bit better.

An excellent hotel that made our first trip to Hobart a fantastic experience. The room was very comfortable, great lighting, comfortable bed and well designed bathroom. I would highly recommend including breakfast with your stay. It offers a wide variety of all the classic savoury and sweet breakfast staples and great coffee. All presented beautifully. The location is amazing, a short walk to many amazing restaurants and close to the waterfront. If you're driving include the valet service for extra convenience.The building itself is very impressive, many of its historical features are present throughout the buildings modern interior alongside great artwork. More importantly the staff are extremely professional, polite and helpful. Not only to myself but also observing staff assisting other guests with their particular needs. What makes a hotel great is attention detail and The Tasman does this very well in every way it can.

Beautiful building, clean and spacious rooms, love Mary Mary the cocktail bar and the beautiful Italian restaurant. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We will return to this hotel

The location was perfect, everything we needed was very close. Parking was added and great. The breakfast was superb, with great options and the staff were extremely pleasant, helpful and great at communication - all extra effort items with no direct benefit (but so invaluable)

Not much - I would like to have felt some more small bids of connection - so that I felt warmly part of the hotel, like a regular guest - this would keep the Tasman at the top of my list next time I am in need of accommodation in Hobart - personal rather than electronic. Things like "hey Brett, grab a free bottle of water on your way out today" - or a personal note left in our room!!

The hotel is beautiful and the staff were exceptional. Very friendly and professional. Location was great for walking to food, markets, shopping and the waterfront.

Breakfast was great with a good selection. The breakfast room was divine.

Air con in bedroom a little warm and we couldn’t seem to adjust it.
