Food, location, staff, bed was very comfortable.

As It was an inside room with no windows, it did smell of mould.

    6TomPosted on: 2-3-2026

    Central location in the CBD

Some renovations in progress, so a little noisy and the off street parking was not always accessible.

    Good food & cheap

    Noisy, not well-equipped rooms

    8JoPosted on: 1-19-2026

Location was very central, easy walking around CBD.

Needs a bit of a refresh decor wise.

The cavenagh has the best swimming pool in all of Darwin! Always warm water and never crowded The hotel close to shops and offices and beautiful sights

    8EdnaPosted on: 1-4-2026

The location is close to everything. Public transport, grocery etc.

I'm not sure if I bring the insects with me but occasionally I got insects bite

Very sociable location in Darwin CBD. The bar/restaurant is very well Patronised by locals, which is a good sign. Rooms are large and comfortable.

There are stairs which some may not like. The bar can be noisey, but once your door is closed the noise isn’t too bad. The Cavenagh is a very old establishment in Darwin.

Lovely Clean at the ground floor rooms which was good. Pool was right there and cities just a walk and the cav pub was brilliant.

Very much appreciated the single beds, so comfortable. The six bedroom female is split in two so there is more privacy. Towels and toiletries provided! I only stayed two nights and enjoyed it

No AC in kitchen so it felt very hot

    8CatherinePosted on: 12-3-2025

Simple but clean room with a tiny private patio just next to the swimming pool in a very convenient location.

It is quite noisy as there is a bar just next to the room with loud music.

    8KikaPosted on: 11-28-2025

Good location, nice pool, comfortable beds

I was very jetlagged and there is live music wich was quite loud. But it was also a nice vibe and they stopped the music on time

As a young traveler used to hostel, booking a private room in this place is a real hotel experience ! Super good service, the room was very good and very clean. Loved the pool. Would recommend :)

    6JennisPosted on: 11-12-2025

The convenience, the staff, cleanliness. The bar is right downstairs and has a live band almost everyday with happy hour price drinks.

The steps to carry the luggage up.

    9Victoria_s_pPosted on: 11-5-2025

It was a spacious room in a hotel with a swimming pool and a bar featuring live music. It is a 10-minutes walk to the Darwin seafront area with the closed lagoon for swimming, restaurants, and the Convention Center. The AC works well, and the bed is large and comfy.

The room doesn't have a window; perhaps I overlooked this detail when booking. However, there is a skylight large enough to let in daylight and help avoid a claustrophobic feeling.

The cav is great, so close to all the shops and coffee houses. Short walk to the waterfront and restaurants. Place is well priced and rooms are really comfortable.

Nothing, place is great for those that want to enjoy what Darwin has to offer.

    10SusanPosted on: 10-31-2025

The vibe. Reception was friendly and efficient. There is a bar/bistro and an outdoor eating, entertainment area. Live music (Friday evening) the food was good, generous serving, reasonable prices. Huge sparkling pool.

Two inconsequential nit picks - I could not see the lamp switch by the bed so had to get out of bed to switch it off at the wall and as the building is only one story high, there is no lift. However, a hotel employee carried my suitcase up the stairs for me! (I'm 75).
