    Pros +

    • We stayed at the Lady Gowrie apartment which isn’t actually in the historic Largs Pier Hotel (which we were hoping for) but the apartment was clean and nice and comfortable, which was advised it would be, so that was good. Great to be directly across from the beach, very convenient!
    • Nice location and a charming hotel. Although it is quite dated it has everything you need. The staff are friendly and you can get a decent meal.
    • Great comfy bed, pillows good, kitchen amenities good. Staff were excellent and extremely helpful and friendly.

    Cons -

    • Nothing we didn’t like, however, it would be great if when you are booking on this platform that the apartment is offsite from the actual Largs Pier Hotel itself and the accommodation there.
    • The rooms are very dated
    • The place needed a good refurbishment, very heavy old furniture ( out dated and uncomfortable) Bathroom terrible, needs a good update, stale damp smell, tapware old. Shower head horrible.

Fantastic heritage property, right on the beach and close to the train station. Staff were very friendly.

A little extra maintenance/refurbishment would really make this historic jewel shine

Fantastic location. Stayed in room one which had a fantastic dining room and spa bath.Balcony was great to be able to sit and relax with a beautiful view.

Only thing I can comment on is that it was a bit noisy but didn’t impact our stay.

Breakfast wasn’t available until 7 am too late

There was no tea or coffee in the room, no fridge, and no water for drinking

Love the position staff where great and helpful, room was very clean and tidy. , I would go back

We have been wanting to stay here for quite a while. So pleased we finally did. What a beautiful building! We had a motel room which allowed us easy access to our car. The rooms were big and nice and clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly throughout the hotel. Breakfast was lovely. We will definitely be back.

I had the room witz jacuzzi. Realky great after a long travel. The balcony was also really nice. The room was really big and comfortable and you could find the heritage vibe everywhere

It was a Heritage Room with a Sea View. The restaurant is excellent for breakfast or dinner. The bar has nice people attending to your every needs.

Beautiful heritage suite, comfortable thoughtful touches , great ambiance & clean. Food service was friendly and efficient; portions and tastes were amazing. Location and views were fantastic. Parking was reasonable. Great room temperature control.Dining room would be fantastic for special private mealsThe small irritations did not spoilt a really fantastic stay.

Very Disconcerting to have to walk through full dining room with suitcase. Suggest move reception or make a defined pathway for guests.Food: could have arrived in room hotter with covers on plates.Kettle drawer needed a lock to keep it from returning into the cupboard while boiling kettle.Dining chairs are a bit low for the table height.Loud thumping of noise (music?) from somewhere below until about 11.30pm.Balcony should be partitioned off so no-one else could access the room from other accessible areas of balcony.

The staff was fantastic, delicious food and stunning views from the second floor, recommend!

    9ThomasPosted on: 12-27-2025

    That we couldn’t stay longer!

    5AndrePosted on: 12-23-2025

Nothing really, it is dated and overpriced.

Old carpets everywhere, very dated establishment. Noisy.

Beautiful setting at the seafront in an historic building within a pleasant neighbourhood. Our suite was large an had direct access to a balcony which was a common area and had seaview towards the sunset. The pub downstairs had good food and was convenient to grab a sundowner. Lots of other food options in 20 minutes walking distance, beach and jetty just in front of the other side of the adjoining road.

It's not the hotel's fault but in the evening the road in front of the hotel seems to be a place to show off with noisy cars and motorbikes. After sunset and during the night it was quiet though and we had a good sleep.

A great place to land in Australia and get over jet lag. The room was huge and very comfortable. The bar and restaurant were excellent and the staff always cheery and efficient. It was wonderful to step right outside and wander onto the beautiful beach.

    9MelissaPosted on: 12-13-2025

The locations was great for sunsets and beach walks.

Their was a lot of noise from people drinking down stairs outside at night and this went very late.
