Pros +
- Convenient location to the CBD
- Everyone was above the board kind.
- There is a nice cafe 3 blocks down the street who makes ok latte
Cons -
- The kettle is so nasty and the shower needs cleaning.
- Extremely slow internet. No proper cleaning. They don’t change the duvet covers — you end up sleeping with the duvet cover used by the previous person. You literally have to beg them to keep you in the same bed, as beds are changed in a random manner. The toilets are dirty. There are far too many rules: guests are not allowed to bring alcohol. When there is an event in town, prices are inflated massively. If prices were normal, this place would be a 6/10. After charging a fortune for what you get, it’s a 0/10. There are also common areas, such as the TV room, without air conditioning, and parts of the hostel feel like a sauna. Some rooms have no air conditioning at all, are not ventilated, and have windows that cannot be opened. They also have carpeted floors; as a result, the rooms feel suffocating. Several people were coughing, likely due to allergies being triggered.I made an official complaint and informed management that I would report the hostel to the council, as the conditions are unhygienic. In response, an older man with grey hair working at reception — who, in my experience, repeatedly made inappropriate comments toward young backpackers during my stay, along with a woman in her late fifties — cancelled my booking and called the police to have me evicted. The matter is now with the Adelaide Council.

There are 3 nice trees near the hostel

Location Towels Left luggage option
Noise and easily overlooked (ground floor) busy corner meant people looking directly into the room (bug windows but not view). Would have been an issue on a weekend with noise. Got lucky with it being a weekday
Really nice and helpful staff.
But not clean or comfortable. My bed and linens were covered in long brown hairs, felt itchy the whole night, creaky and bouncy beds. bathrooms not properly cleaned and often covered with rubbish that was there days before, overflowing rubbish bins.
Very good
The Wednesday night barbie was okay but not friendly. A far better way of doing it would be to follow the Portuguese backpacker approach where everyone who participates joins together by sitting at one or two tables. This makes for a much more communal and friendly meal.
The female staff are more welcoming than male staff.
Someone stole my shampoo, and some place are to isolated, kitchen is always dirty too.
Great facilities, lovely staff, good location
Sometimes not the cleanest but as you’d expect for a hostel and great in terms of hostel standards
The atmosphere was very friendly & vibrant. The staff were very nuce and helpful
The kitchen would become a little hectic at times. So it was difficult to navigate when cooking.
Accomodation was comfortable nicely situated close to public transport,so plagues of people have good things in sa was good value with nice staff willing to help you if you need it.
Great location! It’s a massive hostel so there’s always people around (from very different ages). I did my check in with Will who was awesome. Bathrooms were clean and showers had a lot of space. I was In a 4 fem dorm and it was good. Big lockers to put your carry on. I enjoyed my stay in Adelaide :)
Everything was fine.
We had spacious private room with private bathroom.Balcony Good price Great dining hall and facilities including sunscreen
The location is perfect.Good atmosphere among the people.I can't complain about anything
Some times the kitchen is messy, but is because of the people. The staff work hard to maintain everything tidy
Helpful staff, relaxed but efficient atmosphere, everything was tidy.
No complaints
The location was amazing! Incredibly walkable to all of the locations we wanted to visit; food, concert, Rundle. Perfect.
The AC could have been cooler and the shower pressure/temperature could have been a little better too but it served its purpose.
Good location. Lots of bathroomsBig laundryLarge common roomWalking distance to everything Nice staff
Had to make up your bed when arriving which was frustrating when arriving late in the evening. Lack of plug sockets
Very nice and helpful staff, cleaned environment.
Charging ports could be closer to the beds, there should be a bin in the mens bathroom
Location was great.
The mattresses were terrible, no plugs beside the beds.
Nice common space.
Just details – nothing truly bad, but by comparison, a bit less elegant:• The only electrical outlets were in the closet – none by the bed – which felt impractical and, compared with the other nine places I stayed on this trip, definitely a minus;• No privacy curtains or intimacy in the bunk;• No shelf by the bed.
