Pros +
- Excellent breakfast in the restaurant across the road, with good filter coffee. Free parking across from reception building.
- Very comfortable rooms and shower, beautiful grounds, friendly staff, great breakfast.
- Tranquil location in the nature, very cosy bed and nice small terrace. Resort is A bit of labyrinth which was fun to explore, esp with kids. Very helpful staff and nice breakfast in a detached restaurant - simpler offer but delicious. Kitchen had more appliances than on pictures- microwave, fridge and small electric cooker, all you need.
Cons -
- First night we had no fire wood which you can use in winter. Do not forget to ask for it to burn the cosy stove.
- Not necessarily a dislike as we knew going into it, but the town is very sleepy, only 2 restaurants within walking distance. Both are good though!
- Minor things that did not bother that much - parking was at the entrance but a bit far (300m approx) from the room as the resort is really big :) Kitchen utensils only for 2 people though we had a kid so we were missing eg cutlery and plate when we wanted to prepare some snacks for family

I really enjoyed breakfast and lush vegetation of the surroundings.
Too bad for the moldy interior of the cottage.
Beautiful setting and well maintained complex. Loved the hammock on the balcony.
My particular cabin smelled a bit damp
+ Perfect location, amazing garten, 2 good pools, good breakfast
- too small standards apartment for 2 adults and one child. (But enough for 2 person).- too high humidity in the room. (Perhaps we ware unlucky).
Breakfast was good. The property was very beautiful
The facilities were older and parking was difficult
The surrounding areas of the hotel complex are really beautiful with lush greenery and various different exotic plants and well kept gardens. The location itself is very good to explore the northern part of Madeira. We found the breakfast selection pretty good and the walk to the restaurant is about 200m so no big deal.
The room had mold on the walls, curtain, bathroom and worst of all behind the bed around the area where you rest your head for 8 hours everyday causing you to inhale mold which is toxic and really bad for your health. We informed the staff but there were no other rooms available and cleaning it is not possible. We had to turn around the setup of our bed so that we at least do not have our heads right next to the moldy wall all night. The bathroom was also moldy in some spots and the ventilation really bad and here I really believe the hotel could improve as there were no mosquito nets so at nigh you could not really have your window and terrace door open because of mosquitoes flying in and due to this there was basically no ventilation so you are stuck in a humid moldy room.
Did not like anything about the property
The property feels very old and poorly maintained. There was an extreme humidity smell that made it difficult to sleep, and only a small fan was provided. The beds were uncomfortable and appeared dirty, as did the towels. Several electrical outlets didn’t work, and I even found a spider in the room.
we liked the location and the accessibility to the rose garden.
We stayed in the villa #1, which is located right next to the road and across the street from the restaurant, which made sleeping very challenging as there is no fan or AC in the house and we had to keep the windows open. The house has stale smell and there are no mosquito nets at the windows. The bathroom ceiling is slanted and low, which makes impossible to have a shower standing for person over 5’. The mattresses and pillows are very uncomfortable also.
Beautiful garden spacious room and nice terrace
I loved the grounds, it is a treat for gardeners. So many beautiful flowers in bloom. Plus the rose garden- fantastic! There are two nice size swimming pools. Our little house did have table/chairs an a hammock in front. Kitchenette was very basicWater pressure very good easy to control temperature as wellEarly start with a breakfast was a plus
Shower curtain too small , water was leaking outside the bathtub. Sheer curtain is needed in the bedroom for privacy,Also maybe cling film on the bathroom window. My husband noticed on the smaller bed tiny ? . Reception give him extra new sheets Even wit all his I would still recommend the place.
Very tranquil and friendly staff. Great pools and location
A bit crowded at breakfast and coffee machine was slow. Beds could have been a bit softer
Price quality ratio if you are a group of three is really bad. We paid >250 € per night for a house that we kept on calling our « horror shed ». No discussion about the price, although the staff seemed to have asked the management. No proof of communication on that end though, so not really sure that happened Humid and cold inside - had to sleep with 2 layers. The horror shed two minuscule heaters. Had to crouch in the shower - and I am 1.64m tall … We switched from Number 7 (the worst, do everything to avoid that one, except if you want literally everyone to look into your room) to number 2. Do not recommend any of these
Very run down, old and cold
The setting, the garden, the staff
The place was compact and cozy. You could see that someone put in the love to care for it.
Some facilities were a bit outdated, for example cooking in the kitchen wasn't always easy as dishes and some kitchen equipment were old.
We stayed in a small house, which was rustic. It was a little cold as we were travelling in April. The area and garden is beautiful and the breakfast was great.
I like house and yard, greenery, porch, hammock, fireplace with firewood - excellent place for relax
The location is amazing, the staff is wonderdul! The mountains in the background are breathtaking, the whole location is like a garden with tropical plants. They take good care of the property garden and roses.
We had the apartment number 203, which was unfortunately full of black mold. That is very harmful for your health. The bathroom ventillation is very poor so the whole apartment is very muid. By the bed the wall is soaked in water, mold, around the doors, curtains in the livingroom-bedroom and windows, all with black mold spots. When we closed the door for the night it was smelling like in a wine cellar, even the bed smells weird because of the humidity of the apartment. I dont know if other apartments are different maybe we just were unlucky.
The locationis superb. There is a huge variety of beautiful flowers and plants in the garden, which is well cultivated. Our room was in a secluded area of the garden, so it was absolutely silent. The breakfast was very good and there is even a pool table that you can use for free.
The apartment's kitchen is just the absolutely bare minimum. For example, a kettle and a screwdriver wouldn't hurt.Several of the equipment didn't work properly, like the microwave or the stove.
