Pros +
- Close to the airport, very quiet, comfortable, clean. Really nice stay.
- The room was very clean, nicely decorated with individual character and very good bathroom
- Big and nice property
Cons -
- Immediately arriving, the small car park outside reception was strictly no parking, not even to simply dismount. Lead to not a particularly warm welcome. The bar took an age to get service and breakfast was like some kind of madhouse, with children kicking and screaming and adults scampering to pile high their pre-paid breakfast. Would have been nice for a separate adult only dining area, peace and tranquility
- The swimming pool is a little bit old and the changing rooms were not the cleanest, the pool was also regularly closed due to maintenance or too many people being there
- The bedroom was too hot and we did not sleep well at all because of the room temperature. We were as a consequence exhausted the following day. We stayed only for one night otherwise I would have asked reception to reduce it. The swimming pool was disappointing and would benefit from a refresh. Beauty treatments would have been amazing as well! I had mentioned I was traveling there for my birthday but it was clearly not noted by any staff, no specific attention, overall the buildings and place is stunning but was not taken away by the experience.

Breakfast was delicious, various choices - loved the gluten free selection ! Staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had the buffet dinner which was delicious too, a selection of cheese, wines would have been amazing (unless we did not notice this was already available). Staff at the reception were welcoming and helpful, absolutely stunning park and gym is beautifully equipped.

The rooms were amazing and the beds extremely comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and only 10 minutes from Heathrow airport
There were a lot of stairs, not ideal for older people
Very friendly staff, clean room, warm water in the swimming pool, very tasty and fresh food in the restaurant, a big green territory around the buildings. Thank you so much, our family had perfect time in this hotel.
A very long way from room to reception, restaurant and leisure centre.
Staff ,very friendly, welcoming, and helpful .The hotel itself was clean and everything u will need. My son enjoyed the swimming pool and the games room.We had breafast included in our stay and the was delinghtfull.
The childs sofer bed could have been a bit bigger as my son is 11 amd it was very thin.
Layout / space / parking / bar area for adults / dining area for families / tennis courts
Would be great to have another pool as at weekends or school holiday periods the pool is very busy. There is probably space to build another luxurious pool with spa / jacuzzi
Good cooked buffet food and friendly staff in relaxed family restaurant after longish jouney. Clean room and warm.swimming pool
Needed twin/ bunk beds on a family room to be better comfort
Location and the grounds
The pool area needed to be cleaned much more regularly. Towels collected more regularly and water mopped from the changing rooms and poole area. Noisy residents made a disturbed night sleep. Better communication when the poole was closed.
Great restaurant and bar Beautiful hotel Huge towels Great shower
Family rooms were small Sofa beds uncomfortable No fridge in room
Location and room
Swimming pool facilities were very unclean. Hotel is huge so room was a long way from facilities. Food was average in buffet.
Lovely Hotel Very Huge so long way to rooms although many car parks.
Food wasn't up to Al a Carte standard. Service wasn't great. Penhaligans Body wash and Shampoo was a bonus in our bathroom. Comfy beds and very clean with tea/coffee facilities
Swimming pool, breakfast and dinner
Swimming pool changing rooms not very clean
Large location, plenty of space. Well presented bedrooms.
Not a great deal of parking given number of rooms. Always the chance of a large conference going on.
Comfortable beds and a good breakfast
Lovely location, but in the middle of nowhere: meaning you have to drive to get to anywhere other than the hotel to eat (Staines being the nearest place that offers anything other than terrible Italian food or pubs!) but Windsor is probably equidistant. We had booked for a girls night in but they offer only terrestrial TV and were unable to supply a cable to connect an iPad via hdmi (the only format acceptable). Reception staff tried to be helpful by suggesting the nearest BP garage but obviously, they don’t stock these either so it was another wasted trip! They do have a 24 hour window a try and I find it hard to understand why they don’t stick a range of cables there too.
The staff were friendly. The facilities were clean. Great location.
We were half board. Some staff were perplexed by this. The system to manage half board guests needs better organising. Perhaps a wrist band.
Well located, wonderful breakfast amd should be for £60 extra. Pool was nice to have.
The sofabed was really uncomfortable for my children with a paper thin matress. It shouldn't be sold as a family room, it is a double room with a v uncomfortable sofabed. The hotel is obviously busy but had lots of signs of wear and tear. The were no staff around pool reception had to figure out towels etc just need a bit more TLC.
Beautiful location ,food was great, staff were very friendly, room was comfortable but a shabby
Wire’s hanging from TV on the wall ,room was shabby
We had a wonderful stay at the De Vere Hotel Windsor. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly, and our room was ready for us. The hotel has an old-school charm, featuring high ceilings and an impressive collection of historical pictures and artifacts that celebrate both the history of the school and royalty. The corridors are grand yet retain a classic school-like character, which adds to the nostalgic atmosphere. Our bedroom was fantastic—styled like a modernized school dormitory, combining nostalgia with comfort perfectly. We enjoyed a coffee in the bar, which was pleasantly quiet and not too busy. The room itself was peaceful, and despite the hotel’s large size, the walk to our room through the historic corridors was enjoyable and added to the experience. Its location in old Windsor is ideal, whether you’re visiting the castle, exploring Harry Potter sites, or using it as a convenient stopover before flying from Heathrow.Overall, we highly recommend this hotel to family and friends, and we will definitely be staying here again.
The only thing my wife would have preferred is a bath in the room.
