Pros +
- Beautiful hotel, beautiful grounds
- Cosy lounges and stylish, well thought out rooms
- 1) serene location right by the river and only 10 mins away from Windsor, 2) spacious rooms with practical storage space, 3) welcome snacks in the room and Japanese dishes in the lounge, 4) helpful and friendly staff, though some members would benefit from stronger English language skills, 5) little touches in the room like a radio
Cons -
- Checking in at hotel took 35 minutes in line. 25 people waiting. Was very crowded.
- Spa dated and dirty
- 1) although the overall shabby chic style adds some charm to a country house location, some soft furnishings could do with a thorough cleaning

Relaxed, family friendly, large and comfortable room, lovely lounge with fires and good pool facility.
Great hotel , so dog friendly which is fabulous.Staff extremely helpful and very friendly.
There could be more food choices. Menu is limited. Food is expensive .
I loved the staff and I love Alex Eagles style
I thought the whole place looked a bit tired, the interior of the wardrobes were tired and the paint work in areas were sloppy. The pool area and gym is extremely dated,I’m all up for the old school vibe but this didn’t quite cut it. I was relieved I paid £200 plus for a room as I would have been annoyed if I’d paid more and they were the facilities
The staff were amazing & super friendly. The hotel was gorgeous, quiet and calm little retreat with beautiful grounds
We are big Rocky Horror fans and it was great how accommodating the staff were while we were very excited and taking lots of photographs. Loved the little extras in our room like the robes and an umbrella. The food was lovely at dinner and at breakfast. Loved the wall showing pictures of the various movies filmed there. The grounds are beautiful and the river view. Also at night with the trees lit up.
Was upset to hear that the Rocky Horror events/picnics no longer take place at the hotel as we would have loved to attend one.
Room, staff, grounds
Dining table options for dinner.
The staff and the homely feel and the beautiful grounds and buildings and nature really made this place. Also the Japanese set dinner on Saturday night was truly excellent.
The massage (provided by an external company in the room) wasn’t great.
The room was fantastic, very luxurious and comfortable. The hotel has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and the staff were all very helpful.
Whilst the room was clearly updated recently, the spa facilities could do with modernisation. That said we had a very enjoyable swim!Breakfast was slightly disappointing as the choices were very limited, but the food itself was very tasty.
Gorgeous building and very nice and atmospheric F&B outlets. We played tennis twice and the courts were very nice.We had a very nice lunch and dinner, food was absolutely perfect.Bed was very comfy.
The rooms are very tired and worn out. There were some used minis in the bathroom which haven't been taken out by housekeeping and overall lots of crack in the tiling, paint chipped and stains on the carpet. The check in was very rushed and it would have been great been talked through the location of amenities and so on.The spa area is very old, tiny, not very clean and really in need of refurb.
room,breakfast and venue
poor connectivity for phone and hotel wifi
I have been coming to the Oakley Court for years. I love the locations and the amazing castle-like feel with a home-like charm. The picnic basket of snacks and mini bar being included with our room was a real treat! Also, they have stepped up their cocktails in-house, as well as providing top-shelf barware at the bar and in the room! Love the SMEG kettle.
Having visited often, I noticed that the new owners changed up a few things. They no longer tend to the small golf course that once was present. The Oakley Court no longer serves Taittinger champagne and Louis XIII cognac. As for our stay, while the room was lovely, the AC did not work well, and the windows no longer can be opened it appears. The staff were attentive and provided a portable cooling unit with ice, but it was not quite enough to last the entire night.
Great venue
Staff rude and unhelpful Overcharged us for our dinner bill then tried to lie about it Poor service overall
Gorgeous property, great access to the river
We really didn’t see many staff. I was sent a check in and check out link to my email so really we just kind of walked in and got a key and there wasn’t any customer service. We wanted to have dinner with our little one and we had to walk around to find anyone to take out order, no one at the bar, no staff anywhere and reception couldn’t take our dinner order.
The Thames River.
Absolutely no atmosphere, restaurants closed, VERY limited menu, could have had a tuna toastie at home, better.
The position. The view. The in formality.
Car parking? Quite expensive.
Excellent hotel and all the staff were very attentive and exceedingly friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Evening meal and breakfast were delicious and again served by the lovely staff. Great hotel in such beautiful surroundings.
Nothing to dislike at all. Well done to everyone who made our stay just perfect. I'm sure we will visit again for our annual meet-up next year.
