- The location was perfect. It was very quiet yet only 10 - 15 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Venice.
- The location is good being relatively close to the boat taxis and a short walk from the beach; the road outside was quiet.
- Pet friendly hotel, pleasant reception staff, comfortable bed and bath. Good breakfast, which was collected in the box on our request
Cons -
- The smell from the bidet. It was clean but there was fumes coming thru the pipes. I mentioned it to the manager.
- room was on the ground floor behind reception and opposite the cleaners door, and the noise from both woke us earlier than we would have liked each morning. bathroom and room smelt of sewer and we reduced this by pouring water into the floor waste trap
- Breakfast to poor

We appreciated the young lady at the front desk. Sarah was very smiley, welcoming, and helpful. The property was a little walking distance to the vaporeto. As it didn't t rain it was fine walking. The vaporeto was easy to use just a little expensive. The hotel was spotlessly clean. The beds comfortable. The room was quiet large and had a safe.Breakfast items were insufficient. We found street parking for our car.All in all our stay was enjoyable. Please note :If you go to Russo PalaceYou need to take the ferry to get to the property !
Location View Comfort
Breakfast to poor
Spotlessly clean and a beautiful view over the bay to Venice. Also a great sized room
Slightly dated decor
The view. The small corner unit balcony with million dollar view. Also the bathroom.
The room was extremely small. The curtains were in bad condition. Also half the time I couldn’t use the small balcony with extremely beautiful view because, the next room the occupants were chain smoker.
Pretty small bedroom, with a not-too-confortable bathroom, but for a few days full busy to visit Venice the accommodation is good and quiet.
nice terrace even if shared with another bedroom.
I booked this hotel last minute and did not do much of research beforehand as I usually would. This hotel was a jack pot for me. Quite location, of the beaten path, character room, comfortable, view at the Laguna, 5 minutes walk to the free beach, 10 minutes walk to the water bus station. I couldn't ask for more.
The hotel had a good location and nice view with very attentive staff.
Very nice hotel, straight on the canal. Fantastic view from the window, it was important for me. everything was nice, cleaned, good designed' full of atmosphere. 12 min walking to the fairy and cafes
there were noisy boats passing by with music and noise on the canal
the staff were very friendly and helpful. Electric kettle in the room.
the bathroom was crowded, partly by the inclusion of a bidet. There was a corner sink with no counter top. The shower door did not close properly. There were not enough power outlets for charging devices without unplugging a lamp and electric kettle. The hotel was built in a different age
The location is very good. Hotel is situated directly at the waterfront with a nice view of Venice. Friendly staff. The room was a bit small but clean and quite comfortable. Breakfast: very italian but o.k. with some hearty options like scrambled eggs.
Bathroom definitely too small. The shower is so low that I (my height: 1,80 m) could only shower while doing some exercises (good for your health but not really comfortable). In room safe did not work (there was no key)
Great location, good views & comfy bed. Excellent friendly staff, really helpful & welcoming.
Everything is a bit tired and outdated, the sink didn’t work, the water wouldn’t drain. Wouldn’t bother with the breakfast - not the best.
It was tired. Breakfast was adequate, cooked items were cold, no fresh fruit salade. Each day tinned pineapple. They did try to provide unsweetened cerials. No hot water on the first day. Rooms were not fully cleaned. No glasses supplied in room. Double bed was two singles pushed together.
The staff were extremely friendly and quite helpful. The breakfast was varied and good.
The internet connection for the hotel was among the worst I've ever experienced. Dropped all the time; very slow to load or not loading at all. We stayed on the top (3rd) floor, and there was no way to control the heat. It stayed very hot all night long. Opening the windows didn't help.
Nice location, quiet. Room was clean. Toilet and bath was spacious enough. The staff were very friendly
Keys to the wardrobe was not working. No telephone to call reception. Internet was not consistent working
Simple but excellent, low-key traditional hotel with grand view over the lagoon towards the city of Venice. Ten minutes walk along the lagoon quay to the vaporetto for Venice, some traffic on the road but very quiet by night. Ample clean corner room with beautiful covered balcony (loggia), go for these ones! No modern frills, in fact nicely stuck in the past; exceptionally good value for the price for Venice. Interesting also to explore the Lido, its art nouveau villas, Jewish cemetery, the Murazzi... Ideal for longer term stay, away from the madding crowds yet close to the city.
Breakfast could have been fresher (juices, eggs) and more complete.
Our room was cozy with a beautiful sea view. The beds were quite comfy. Nonstop reception much appreciated. The breakfast was great, it definitely exceeded our expectations (no offence, Italy <3).
The walls were very thin so we could hear our neighbours' (and their toddler's) every move. That's not something the hotel can change overnight of course. Just be sure to take a pair of earplugs!
Russo Palace Hotel in Lido, Venice, offers a delightful stay with spacious rooms featuring private terraces and stunning views of the lagoon. The breakfast is excellent, providing a great start to the day with a variety of delicious options. A perfect choice for a relaxing and scenic getaway.
