About

Situated at the heart of historic Seville, this charming boutique hotel is just a short walk from the main sights of the city, including the cathedral and Alcázar Palace. La Casa del Maestro is the ideal place to relax, and visit lively Seville. The hotel decor blends traditional styles with vivid colors. It also has a smart and classical-style patio terrace area, equipped with tables, chairs and lounge chairs. Enjoy your breakfast out on the patio terrace in the morning sunshine. From this hotel, you can walk through the historic center of the city, with its windy streets and pretty cafes. In the traditional neighborhood of Santa Catalina, you can easily get to many of the sights from here by foot. The property was originally the house of the flamenco guitar master, Niño Ricardo, and has been restored as a thematic boutique hotel. The eleven rooms are built around the central courtyard, each one of them with a different decorative motive inspired by songs of the Master.

Pros +

  • Located in a very quiet street, but close to the center. Very easy to get around the city. Helpful and friendly staff. Very clean bedrooms.
  • Everything. Staff were amazing. Room was great, best bed we have slept in on our 7 week Europe vacation. Shower was amazing best also so far. Breakfast was lovely. Location great. Best little hotel we have ever stayed in. We had to leave at 6am to catch a train and they put together a picnic breakfast for us. Such thoughtful caring staff.
  • Comfy bed, tasty breakfast, nice bathroom and roof terrace, good location.

Cons -

  • Nothing.
  • Shocked that a room costing over 150 a night did not have a window you could look out of, and that was not made clear when we booked the room. Would never have chosen this hotel if we had known our room would only have a thickly glazed window you could not see through. Only way to see any sky was to open the window, but there was a window directly opposite so we did not feel very private, and it was cold with it open also. We knew there was no lift but surprised it was 59 steps to get to our room. It would be good if customers are warned when booking a room up 59 stairs! As I have an injured leg, I asked if there was a room on a lower floor. The friendly receptionist said all rooms were booked. However when I climbed back up the stairs I noticed 2 open rooms clearly unoccupied. I went back down and asked again. This time the receptionist said we could have the smaller of these rooms. But it was so small, we stayed in the room without the window. I do not know why we were not offered the available room when we first asked. The photos on Booking.com are misleading as none show a room like the one we had. When we left, it was hard to get our suitcase down the 59 stairs so we brought it down half full, carried the rest of our luggage down in carrier bags, and then packed the case on the ground floor in the lobby! Not impressive for 150 a night. Clearly other rooms are lovely, we were just unlucky with Room 12, as people have mentioned in reviews. Overall we had a great time in Seville and appreciated the location of the hotel.
