The hotel was conveniently located near the cruise terminal once we found it at night. Dinner at their restaurant was good. The breakfast was great.

The Staff from the front desk to the cleaning staff were so helpful respectful and friendly. They went out of their way to ask how they could help. Wonderful smiles. Best hotel staff experience I have had in Europe.

The staffs are nice and friendly. The room size we had was great and clean. The location is great. The train station is just one short block away. Dining choices and shops are just walking distance. We did not try the breakfast to give any comments.
Simple, no frills. I liked having a code instead of a key. We loved being able to stream movies from our phones onto the TV!
It is across the park from train and bus stations.

Top Tips
- Book rooms 6-12 weeks in advance if visiting during the Barcolana regatta (first Sunday in October); demand spikes as over 2,000 boats participate, drawing both sailing fans and visitors. Confirm your reservation early, especially for waterfront hotels.
- Review the Port of Trieste cruise calendar before finalizing dates; cruise ships dock May-October, often increasing same-day hotel rates and occupancy within 800 m of the port. Consider alternative neighborhoods like Città Vecchia if visiting on cruise-heavy days.
- Check Trieste’s municipal 'tassa di soggiorno' tourist tax, which applies per person, per night at check-in; the amount typically ranges €1.50-€3 (approx. $1.60-$3.30), but check the Comune di Trieste’s official site for up-to-date rates to avoid surprises.
- Airport transfers from Trieste–Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport (Ronchi dei Legionari) to Trieste Centrale average 40-50 minutes by ATVO shuttle. Buy tickets at airport kiosks; shuttle frequency and duration can vary by time and season.
- Hotels near the Centro or Canal Grande are 1.2-1.5 km from Piazza Unità d’Italia, a 12-18 minute walk. Enjoy exploring Trieste’s pedestrian-friendly streets or use local buses (single ride under €2) if you prefer to minimize walking.
- Many central hotels occupy 19th-century palazzi with narrow stairways or older elevators. Request step-free access or elevator details in advance if accessibility is important, as features vary by property.
- Tap water is safe to drink throughout Trieste. Ask hotel reception for filtered water or refill your bottles, or purchase local mineral water at supermarkets (often under €0.60 per liter), which can be significantly less than minibar charges.
- ZTL (Restricted Traffic Zones) and limited street parking apply throughout Trieste’s center. If driving, confirm your hotel’s parking availability and rates—onsite parking typically costs €15-€25 per day (approx. $16-$27)—and check precise garage entry points to avoid fines.
