Pros +
- It was a 15 minute walk to the city center.
- The room was compact but had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable beds ...the staff were very friendly and helpful
- Absolutely loved the Sliding Rock Inn. Everyone I met was absolutely lovely and made my stay in Ireland that much more memorable. The restaurant and bar were always filled with locals who took the time to get to know me and give recommendations on how I should spend my time in Galway. The rooms were quaint and comfortable--everything I was looking for. Huge thank you for making my trip so wonderful!
Cons -
- the shower did not have any hot water and barely any water pressure.
- They had a very small bathroom and the beds were very old.
- If you are a light sleeper this might be a hard place to stay. Even though other guests were quiet, walls were thin so you could hear every step in the hallway and a lot of light from the hallway shines into the room through the night.

The food was good and the bar was fun. Not close to anything to do for shopping.
They had a very small bathroom and the beds were very old.
Loved the made to order breakfast included in the stay as well as being attached to a pub. Rooms were clean and well kept including the bathroom. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Location was nice.
Didn’t realize it was above a pub. Room, especially the bathroom was very small.
Loved the pub . Room was cozy.
Band was super loud but we expected this. Breakfast started too late at 8:30. Felt price was high for what we received. I would still recommend.
The staff and bar was amazing! The staff couldn’t have been friendlier. An incredible vibe inside the bar. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic with plenty of options!
It took awhile to get a drink at the bar.The room was a bit small, but enough for what we needed!
Breakfast was good
Room was crampedNo table or chairsTiny bathroom
Uniquely Irish guesthouse and pub. We were there on a Wednesday evening, which is when hundreds of students come into the pub for “SpeedQuizzing”…. Great staff & food
VERY tiny room and bathroom, but livable. See above if noise might be an issue on Wednesdays! ….but, we joined in the SpeedQuizzing and had a blast
The staff especially Ava was so kind and helpful! They made us feel welcomed! They worked with us when we had a morning time crunch. We loved the breakfast choices and the free parking!
The noise outside both late at night and early in the morning with the kegs.
Nice pub. Lots of locals. Dinner was good, and reasonably priced. The included breakfast was huge, and very good. Very nice staff.
All the rooms were very small, but room #4 was even smaller. The bathroom was so small that the sink precluded you from standing in front of the toilet when taking a leak, and in the sitting position you had to sit slightly sideways. If you wash your face and bend over to get water to rinse off, your bum will bump open the double doors. I've never seen anything like it. This particular room was on the street and right over the outdoor sitting area. Bad move on a Friday night. The imbibing and good cheer went on till the wee hours of the morning, not to mention the pub's music. If you're a senior citizen with a good bit of luggage, definitely not for you. If you're young, with or without an overnight bag, this would be a good place to sleep one off. The management was very understanding when we told them we were checking out a day early and they refunded us for the second night we had already paid for. We then went a few km south of town and paid 70% more per night and booked a room that was three times larger and an order of magnitude nicer. Again, there is a demographic this hotel would be good for. Just not us...
Great location, exceptional service, really friendly staff. Excellent breakfast served in the morning.
The mattresses were a bit uncomfortable but the room was great.
Great location and free parking.
Very small rooms and super small bathroom. We knew this when we booked. However, we had two medium sized suitcases and when those were open, we had no walking space. Paper thin walls. Could hear everything on the floor we stayed on.
Had to cancel due to everything above and we were charged anyway
Very bad parkingDifficult accessNo handicap assistance Looked better on line then in person
The staff was nice, it was convenient to eat dinner right there in the bar, and the breakfast was good. We felt it was easy to get around Galway by foot from this location.
The shower head barely put out any water and it was noisy until 1:00 A.M. outside the premises. Parking was extremely tight beside the building. We were lucky to find a spot, yet concerned about the safety of our car.
Very friendly staff, good food, although they stopped cooking dinner early and didn’t warn us. Fun musician.
The most smallest room we have ever stayed in. The bathroom was ridiculously small. A little bit further from downtown than I thought. I was even thinking with the name of the hotel it would be on a hill instead of in a busy traffic neighborhood by a hospital and college. Should have read up a bit more.
Location, well stocked bar, great breakfast
The rooms are very small and it’s very expensive
The location was great. We loved the atmosphere.
Outside our window was the patio area for the pub. We could heat everything happening on the patio until early in the morning.
Love being over a restaurant and bar. Noise was not a problem. Clean. Lovely staff.
