Pros +
- Excellent customer service and great breakfast
- Staff, location
- We had a wonderful stay! The kitchen was clean, parking was easy, and the downstairs area with the cafe was so cute. The location by the saltflats in Galway leads to a picturesque walk to the city center. The location is a little removed from that area but has a lot of shops and restuarants nearby. Our room was nice and we even got a surprise upgrade.
Cons -
- Nothing avoidable
- The wifi was a little slow.
- Uncomfortable beds and squeaky bunk beds

The wifi was a little slow.
Location and cleanliness. Also that there are so many varieties of bathrooms to shower in.
Uncomfortable beds and squeaky bunk beds
Very easy to get to, close to a lot in Salthill and easy to get to Galway center
It was incredibly loud, a lot of slamming doors all hours but I know that’s not necessarily the staffs fault! Overall positive stay!
Great location and modern comfortable rooms.
The parking is tough. You need to get there early and stay put so you don’t loose your spot.
Great location and on site parking was great, super friendly staff. Privet room was very cozy and clean.
Wish there were hand towels in the room and maybe a shelf in the shower.
loved the closeness and view of the ocean , beautiful sunsets and sunrises. could walk to main Galway shopping areas.
I did not pay for breakfast so cannot comment. Location is about 20 minutes walk into city centre
Room Rate could be lower if charging €8.00 extra for a continental breakfast. On a quiet night of week especially during off peak season maybe lower rates given Nest Hostel location is outside city OR; otherwise offer continental breakfast free of charge OR; Stay X number of nights and get one night FREE
The overall "vibe" of the hostel is very trendy and artistic. Lots of cleverly arranged touches here and there to make it feel cozy, yet refined in a more avant-garde fashion. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, and seemed genuinely interested in being sure that we had everything we needed. The laundry facilities are a life-saver for travelers packing light, and not unreasonable priced. The convenience of having a well-stocked commercial kitchen was also a bonus, if you want to keep some food there and prep some meals to save $$$! The location is fabulous and within easy walking distance of the Saltway Prom and city center. Bus stops are also very close by. The room we stayed in the first night was a dorm-style with 6-8 beds. I believe it was more comfortable and better arranged than the hostel we experienced in Edinburgh. The remainder of our stay, we were in a private 2-bed suite. Everything was very nice. I think overall, a much more cozy and comfortable experience than a hotel would have been.
Really, there isn't anything I can recall.
Great location - easy walking distance into Galway Centre. Lovely staff and gathering space/coffee bar. Comfortable beds. Felt secure. Nice to have locking lockers for storage when I arrived (before check-in) and for items too large to fit in room lockers. I liked the privacy curtains on the bunks (but see below).Great vibe overall!Note: just farther up the road is the Gourmet Tart Co. - a great find for wholesome, nutritious food upon arrival after an overnight flight and long bus ride (there are several of these around Galway - higly recommend!)
Minor complaint concerning my top bunk: there was space between the bed and the wall, meaning anything left untethered (phone/water bottle/glasses/valuables I wanted to keep right beside me) were at risk of falling off and all the way down behind the bottom bunk. Adding a shelf to block that gap would be a huge increase in convenience. Also, since the bunks had curtains, I didn't know when others were in the room (sorry to the person I may have woken up mid-afternoon!).Also, the lights in the bathroom were a bit temperamental. But these were minor issues. Overall, I would certainly stay there again.
The colors, New York vibes in the rooms, laundry access.
Quite far from downtown with no more than 5 parking spots.
Absolutely loved the grounds and the room was comfy! Great 15 minute walk to the Latin quarter. Wonderful neighborhood just to the right that we missed - didn’t see it until we headed out the next morning. Loved the easy parking. Felt safe too!
Would be nice to have a hand towel in the room. Other guests/visitors were a bit loud right outside our windows at night but nothing crazy. Definitely wouldn’t say it would deter us from staying, just woke us up a bit but we don’t mind. If you do need quiet, maybe book a room that doesn’t face the parking lot/street, otherwise perfect!
The staff went above and beyond in every aspect. The decor was artsy, unique, and fun
Location: you need to take a bus to the city centre, but buses are frequent and inexpensive
Room was clean and comfortable. There were lights in the rooms that were half working, half not. The bathroom could have been cleaner, but was acceptable. There was a lack of counter space to put luggage.
I would have like to have more counter space for luggage, or a luggage rack at least. The kitchen had a lot of gnats and the morning breakfast was out and and exposed. Would have like to have covered food that was not exposed to the flies and gnats.
Good value, organized and quiet.
Bathroom sink is too small , no shower curtain in the bathroom.
Nice shared kitchen and dining space, good for meeting fellow travellers.Lift between floors which was cleverly decorated.Friendly helpful staffHandy for buses to city
Small room.Quite expensive.
Location. Very unique property.
We hade 5 rooms and one had a bathroom with a sewage smell.
Check-in staff were very friendly. Location was perfect for some local restaurants and bars. Very clean main areas and room. We are a couple in our 40's and this was our first stay at a hostel. We were pleasantly surprised to see guests of all ages and we really enjoyed our stay.
We left an item in our room after check-out and called the hostel later that day. The person on staff that day was not very helpful and was not willing to go to the room to see if it was there. Granted there were other guests now staying there but disappointing that no effort was made to recover our lost item.
The property was well situated, clean and quiet. The staff were extraordinarily accommodating.
