Pros +
- Location was great! Walking distance to everything. Restaurants, bars, shops all around it.
- The location is really perfect
- My favorite parts were the lounge and live music. I also loved that there was a shelf of games on the wall. And the view of the Aurora borealis was phenomenal from the balcony.
Cons -
- My locker did not work.
- There was no locker in the room.More importantly, there was a very strong unpleasant smell coming from the kitchen. I stayed there for 5 days, and the smell was really disturbing the entire time.
- There wasn't much I didn't like, the beds were a little narrow, but that didn't bother me too much at all.

This hostel was great for a few reasons - location was spot on, right in the middle of town, easy to get around and all my tours/pick ups were within a couple of minutes walk from the hostel. I was in the 8 bed female dorm, bunks are allocated by the staff. Room had one shower and one toilet between us which didn't cause any issues during the stay. Each bed had a personal light, wall socket and shelf for personal items. The rooms had good soundproofing. Heaters were on timers so the rooms were often warm on entry but then cooled down overnight.
Minor feedback is the storage in the room. The lockers in the room slide under the bed and are quite small. There is also not much space in the room for luggage but most people were travelling light so didn't cause any issues. Reception is not 24 hours so you would just need to be mindful of this if leaving early and wanting to store luggage for the day.
Loft has a cozy, communal atmosphere to encourage community-building for solo travelers.
I wish luggage storage was a bit more secure. Everyone's belongings are locked in a shed so many people are given a code, I didn't feel comfortable leaving valuables like laptop, headphones, etc.
Excellent location, kind and helpful staff members. Clean and a greatly equipped kitchen. Would return.
Everything was great.
Excellent location, within walking distance of restaurants, cafes, the port, and museums.
A more comfortable mattress would be nice.
I asked to have a low bed and when I arrived they give me one on top. And the lower ones was free all day and night.
The location was perfect, and the staff was super helpful. Very clean. Much fun in the common room.
Zero complaints.
Located in the city center, near important places and supermarkets Clean, sure and the friendly staff
We sent a week traveling in a camper van visiting the the south and east areas. Our last night was in Reykjavik and the location of the loft was perfect for walking around and finishing up right at our place.
Great place! Clean, warm, wonderful location. Dorms had a lot of space and were quiet. The common area/cafe was a great place to hangout or work for the day (although a little loud/crowded at certain times).
Common area did not open until 8am, which seemed late.
I had a wonderful stay at this hostel! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, always ready to answer questions. The room was clean. The common areas had a welcoming atmosphere, making it easy to meet other travelers. The location was convenient, in the city center, close to restaurants, and main attractions. Overall, a perfect balance of comfort, affordability, and hospitality. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting. ?????
I really enjoyed my stay at the hostel. The atmosphere was welcoming, the rooftop terrace was amazing, and the staff were exceptionally kind. In particular, Karola was very polite, helpful, and respectful – she guided me to many places around the city, which made my trip even more enjoyable.
There was problem regarding code some I couldn’t open the door , due to error system.
Location was superb. Right in the busiest street. Had no problem with communication before coming, and had a great stay overall.
Perhaps need to note that since it's at the busiest street, it can be a bit loud at night.
The kitchen was a very clean, fun meeting spot. I truly enjoyed cooking and conversing there. Location is central and proximal by walking to a great selection of stores, restaurants and bars. The tourist office and supermarkets are a short distance and bus stop to airport are all conveniently located.
Everything was great. Sound of dorm door closing during night made me cringe if I caused it.0
The location is perfect and very central, and the rooms are spacious, which is a big plus.
There are a few downsides — the bunk beds don’t have curtains, so there’s no privacy, and towels are not included (you need to rent them for 75 ISK).I also found it odd that the hostel doesn’t accept cash payments, which can be inconvenient for some travelers.
No air circulation. Got hot quickly Dark and sombre
I appreciated the clean bedding; I found the other seven young women in the dorm quite pleasant. The location was central to the city's shops and restaurants. The staff were helpful and friendly.
I think eight people per dorm is a bit excessive. (snoring, only one bathroom)
The location was awesome.
There is no receptionist after 11:30pm. If you have a concern. There is no one to help you out. Guests were coming into the room at 330am.and then leaving and coming back at 4:30 am. The noise level at those hours was insane. With all that, there was no 24 hour cancelation policy.
