    Cons -

    • Only drawback is on the weekend the bars stay open til like 4am and the music is so loud we were kept up all night.
    • Given the price we paid, the room and facilities were very disappointing
    • No dedicated parking and no nearby street parking so I needed to park in a garage a couple of blocks away.

Great location, comfortable (although a little small) room, great restaurant.

No dedicated parking and no nearby street parking so I needed to park in a garage a couple of blocks away.

My favorite hotel in Reykjavik. Have stayed there multiple times. Lovely location, comfortable rooms, and fantastic restaurant - my favorite restaurant in Reykjavik bar none.

Excellent location, clean and big room, good service

Wonderfull staff, especially Daniel at front desk went above and beyond to assist us with maps and directions.

This would have been an excellent stay if it were not for the street noise. Unbearable loud music and noise right outside our window up to 3AM.

Very central location, excellent staff, great food options around

As you would expect buildings in Iceland are designed to keep the heat in as much as possible. That’s not so ideal in August. To make the room bearable from the heat perspective meant we had to leave a window open which invited the light from the late evening sun and noise from the bars and parks across the street well into the night.

I had a problem with my reservation (my own fault) which the desk clerk worked to resolve for me. He got it sorted in a few minutes, so I was very grateful. The hotel is lovely, and its location in the very center of town is fantastic. I was traveling alone and felt safe there. It overlooks a park and a café with street seating. The breakfast is expensive at $35, but the quality of the food was very good with smoked fish as an option.

Check in staff recommended and booked us 2 wonderful excursions

Room was very small for over $300 per night

    9RachelPosted on: 7-31-2025

The location was perfect but because of its central location there was a lot of noise from the street and bars

Location and room. They had Molton and Brown products!

We paid extra for breakfast but it was delicious . No parking and would be nice to provide instructions. We ended up calling them to help us find parking.

    Location. Quality of construction.

    Small room. No lobby coffee.

    7LawrencePosted on: 6-15-2025

Great location. Close to shops, restaurants, attractions.

Waste baskets in room too small, foot pedal unnecessary and noisy. Not enough outlets for charging devices.Breakfast buffet: not enough hot food choices, person was unfriendly and not helpful.

Nice hotel and very helpful staff. Good food.

The spa is a bit small, couldn’t accommodate two massages at the same time, and the floor is very slippery which is dangerous for a spa.The breakfast is good but expensive.

The hotel is the best hotels i stayed during our two-week travel in Iceland. The location is perfect, close to everything. The room is reasonable size, and rather quiet as we were not sure about the noise since there are pubs and restaurants that are surrounding the hotel. But the staff are very friendly and accommodating our requests. We didn't have breakfast due to early check out.

The hotel is well-located and relatively easy to find. Although we first entered via the restaurant. It is an adequate hotel room, although we felt it was pretty pricey for what it was. Maybe it's just Icelandic prices; we were not used to them.At night, it was pretty loud and we could still hear the street noises with the window closed on the 5th floor. Not enough to stop us from sleeping, but it might not be very pleasant for light sleepers.

Our biggest disappointment came from the staff. We didn't expect to need their help, but we did on two occasions. First, a light in the bar cabinet would not turn off. The person who came to check didn't know how to fix it and said, "Weird, other rooms have that problem too, and we don't know what it is." It was very unhelpful, and we ended up figuring it out ourselves. Now, the big one. There was a towel warmer in the bathroom. It was turned off when we entered the room, and we never touched it. As my wife took a shower, she brushed against it and burned herself. The towel warmer is placed right at the shower exit, so you must walk near it. My wife assumed it was turned off, as we hadn't turned it on. Instead, it was on full blast, and we think it had been like this for a while.Let alone the fact that it's incredibly wasteful to have these on for an extended period, the thing was so hot it burned my wife, and there was a towel on it the whole time. So that could have been a fire hazard. My wife had visible burn marks on her back and leg, so I went to the reception to notify them and ask for a first aid kit.The receptionist was very nonchalant and handed me something for a burn while rolling her eyes. A few minutes later, reception called our room to tell us that "did you know that there was a knob that you could use to control the temperature?" in a very sarcastic tone. I did not appreciate their attitude. I didn't appreciate that my wife got hurt and we didn't receive even a slight apology from the hotel or the staff. If anything, they talked to us like we were morons, when we weren't even the ones who turned on the towel warmer in the first place. And even if it was turned on, I genuinely do not believe these things should be so hot that they could burn someone at the slightest touch. This left us extremely upset about our stay.
