The hotel was excellent. It is very centrally located for walking to restaurants, sights and all the bus stops. Great hotel gym, housekeeping and the room were all terrific. Room cost was good value for Reykjavik.

Breakfast is costly but so is everything in Reykjavik.

Staff and facility were wonderful. Location was perfect.

There was an extra charge to use the pool, sauna and jacuzzi, more than $50 per person per day. It should be noted that these facilities are not included in the room rate.

Brilliant location, very helpful staff, nice rooms, great breakfast.

The spa comes with an extra cost, which for that price level is really weird. The room was a bit noisy, we were constantly hearing noises from the restaurant.

Fantastic location. Very walkable area close to everything we wanted for our trip. Communication was prompt and clear and all our questions were answered by staff before and during our stay.

Breakfast selection was good. Room was clean on arrival. Public areas clean and nicely furnished.

Restaurant service was hideous. Ordered food was cold or barely warm each time. Large group in house "Arthur Murray" took over the entire restaurant. People walking around barefoot, loud, putting make-up on at the tables. Non group guests were completely dissatisfied and unhappy. As a retired Food & Beverage Director you should be using the balroom or for this large of a group. Front desk said there was a 50% discount for the Spa. We went there to inquire and the attendant advised it was only off the entrance fee. She did not tell us what the entrance fee was nor did she provide us with a Spa Menu. We had intended to do a Spa Day at the hotel, but after encountering this level of service and the fact that she looked at us as if we shouldn't even be there as if it was bothersome, we left. We went to the lounge for Happy Hour to hear the Jazz Band on Thursday as suggested by the front desk and no one came to the table after 15 minutes so we went to the bar and they sent someone that appeared to be the supervisor. She took the order delivered it and asked for payment. We saw she was running a tab at other tables, but we were not asked if we were guests so we could charge it to the room we just paid by credit card, finished the drinks and left. We had intended to dine at the restaurant, but given the lackluster and very poor service. We ate out for all our meals. Our stay was for seven days and the room is not adequate for travellers with a lot of luggage which is usual for clients travelling abroad, especially, when you are travelling for three months. We followed the request to save on daily towels; however, your staff clearly does not adhere to it and kept replacing all the towels. Housekeeping is very wasteful. Asked to replenish the coffee as it was overlooked and specifically said how many which was just a few and received at least 10.

Looks like a fairly new hotel with high-end finishes, beautiful furniture and great restaurant. The bed was extremely comfortable

    Nothing, loved everything

New and very clean. Situated in the heart of Reykjavík and walking distance to most places in the city.

No parking on site but there was a parking garage within a 2 minute walk.

The hotel is in a great central location, close to restaurants, shops, and attractions. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and once we were moved, the new room was quiet and restful. I appreciated that the staff eventually offered a solution and a partial refund for the noise issue.

My partner and I were repeatedly woken up by a loud service door slamming right outside our room — first in the afternoon when we were trying to nap, and again very early the next morning around 7:24 a.m. I reported the noise both times — once that afternoon and again the following morning — but the issue persisted. The sound was constant and disruptive, making it impossible to rest or sleep in. The hotel’s official response stated, “The guest was offered to move the room yesterday, however not happy with the inner courtyard view, came today and moved twice. The management agreed to 25% refund of the first night.” This is inaccurate. I was told there were no quieter rooms available the first time I asked for a new room because of a nearby music festival, yet the next morning — before guests had checked out — I was shown two available rooms. The response from the staff was defensive and implied an unnecessary inconvenience, even though all they had to do to fix the problem was activate a few key cards so I could check the rooms myself. I declined the first before moving to that room because it was clearly smaller and lacked a table to eat on, despite their insistence it was “the same size.” so I actually moved once when they activated another set of key cards that I used to see the second room with a table the same size as the room I was originally in. When I asked them to send me an email confirming the refund process, they refused, saying only that they “could not ignore my complaint” if I went through Booking, which made the whole interaction feel unnecessarily hostile. The second room they offered was much quieter, which only confirmed that the noise problem in the original room was very real. Overall, the experience left me feeling unwelcome and disappointed by the staff’s attitude. The hotel could offer a more service-first approach that prioritizes guest comfort and constructive communication when issues arise.

The location of this hotel is perfect for exploring the city on foot. It is close to many restaurants, parks, shopping areas, tourist attractions, the harbour, and quaint neighbourhoods. The hotel is beautiful, with pleasing art displayed throughout and a large, comfortable lounge in the lobby. The front desk staff is attentive and friendly. Our room was comfortable, and the high-quality bedding was greatly appreciated. I would stay here again.

A little bit of light through the top of the curtain rail in the morning.
