This hotel is set on one of Reykjavik’s oldest streets, Adalstraeti, 656 feet from Reykjavik Art Museum. It offers a unique Viking exhibition center, plus in-room satellite TV and tea/coffee facilities. Hotel Reykjavik Centrum has both hotel rooms. All feature modern décor, fresh bathrooms and wooden floors. Uppsalir is the hotel’s own café bar. The hotel was built above the ruins of a Viking-era longhouse. An on-site exhibition center now honors this historic feature. It also displays Iceland’s oldest human remains, dating back to 870 AD.

The room was so hot, we had open the windows, but it was still so hot, and then it was noisy. Worst sleep of my entire trip.
Hotel Reykjavík Centrum was perfect for our families. Great location, short walk to bus stop, sights, stores and restaurants. The breakfast was great with something for everyone. The staff was able to provide gluten free bread upon request. The room was clean and quiet and the bed was really comfortable.

The weather temperatures were unusually warm during our stay so our room was a little warm as the hotel did not have air conditioning in our rooms. We did not expect to have such warm temps, and did not expect to have AC since we were in Iceland! We managed

The LOCATION !!! And the history behind the area with the Settlement Exhibit underground which the Hotel could better promote! Breakfasts were great.And very impressed with the complimentary breakfast prepared for us to take on a very early morning tour departure. We travel extensively ever had that option.
