Location and staff!

bathroom (toilet area was too small) you had to squeze yourself into the room. The shower / bathtub set-up was weird, the legnth of the shower prevetion glass wall was too small and always allowed water to fall directly on the floor or required me to sit in the tub to shower myself, carefully.

The location was perfect. The staff was very friendly, and even left me a little birthday gift in the room when we arrived.

The bed was way too hard for me.

The location to city center and restaurants were excellent. Loved the charm of the property, comfortable rooms in a historic building

The description of the hotel should emphasis that it is a challenge to reach the property by car. Plus there is really no other option then to pay for parking at the hotel

We stayed in the Pavillon just across the road from the main hotel in a beautiful old building right on the river. The main facilities are in the hotel although there was a small seating area downstairs. A lift served all floors. We were on the 4th floor which gave good views of the city and river, including the swing bridge. The room was huge and tastefully decorated. There was a mini-bar, TV and and ironing board in the wardrobe. The bathroom was large and decorated in a modern style. The toilet and shower were behind doors in the bathroom. We heard no noise with the windows shut. We didn't take breakfast at the hotel.

No issue with property….cobble stone streets from train station to hotel with luggage was a challenge.

would like to add more history and charm to the decor. It's a little too modern for the historical hotel.

The beds are very uncomfortable. I asked for a king bed, it was two single beds put together. The bedside reading light switch was broken. I had to wrap the light with a piece of clothing so I can sleep. The breakfast service was horrible. I had to get up twice to walk to the waitress to order my coffee and hot breakfast. The front desk person was absent minded. The credit card machine is very old and did not take my HSBC master card. I checked with the bank and was told that the establishment has been listed on a warning list.

Reception staff was great. Specially a girl from Paraguay.

Everything was exceptional accept the Frankenstein staying in the room above us.

Every morning and every evening the Frankenstein staying above us was rearranging their furniture, dragging their metal desk chairs across the wood floor, and walking on their heels the entire time stomping like a Frankenstein. It was waking us up. We were in room 453 and thought no one was above us but, sadly, room 452 had a loft extending above ours. It reminded me of having a cheaper apartment with no insulation. Please PLEASE place padding under all the furniture legs in room 452 loft. To everyone else reading, if you are walk on your heels, YOU are probably an ogre. Stop doing this. Dont be an ogre. If you are on the top floor walk gently.

The location is beautiful and in easy walking distance of major landmarks. The views and the history are charming. It was a wonderful experience.

While I applaud water saving features, the low pressure shower was really terrible. The shower head was too close to the wall and with the low flow of water it was hard to wash properly. Because of the low flow it was hard to adjust the water temperature because each change took ages to register. Despite this, I would book here again because it is so lovely in every other way.
