Hotel Saint Augustin

An excellent location, 2 minutes from the railway station but away from traffic's noise; and a five-minute walk to the centre. Courteous staff, smooth check-in, nice and clean room with enough space to move around, well furbished and equipped. The hotel, in an older building, has recently been refurbished and the rooms are impeccable.

Everything was just perfect.

The staff were lovely, very welcoming, kind and helpful. My room was just enough and had a kettle with tea and coffee. Always a plus. The location was perfect for coming by train and the city centre was an easy walk away and there was an excellent restaurant less than a minute from the hotel door. The hotel staff had recommended it to me and I was very pleased that they did.

A minor issue was that the air conditioner/ heater was not on and it was a very cold night when I was there. It could have been a little warmer in my room. I did not really notice this until nearly bedtime so it was not really a major issue. I'm sure I could have contacted reception and they would have sorted it for me.

The welcome and information from the reception particularly about restaurants. Very central. Easy walk from station and close to the Grande-Ile.

Super good location. Near the old town and train. Friendly and nice as well as helpful customer service.

The location is perfect. Close to the train station and to the Christmas market. Lots of restaurants nearby.

I’m used to soft bed with memory foam so the bed they have is like an ortho mattress.

The rooms are comfortable and very clean. The bed is also particularly comfortable. It looks like it has been refurbished not very long ago and it has been kept very clean and presentable. The staff is very cordial and helpful. It is very easy to get there and the parking they recommend using is a 4 minutes walk away.

Terrible

There is no comment this hotel could make that would invalidate the experience we had after the misfortune of staying here.Upon entering our room, we were immediately met with a strong sewage smell. To make matters worse, the hotel’s air conditioning was completely turned off. When we reported this at reception, the hotel owner reacted in an extremely rude and aggressive manner, stating that there would never be air conditioning at this time of year , despite the hotel advertising this amenity on Booking.This is not about air conditioning itself, but about the owner’s complete lack of professionalism, courtesy, and respect. The situation escalated quickly, and we were essentially told to leave simply for raising the issue.After being shouted at and insulted, we left immediately, even having already paid for the night. We chose another hotel that was cheaper, of higher quality, and fully equipped with central air conditioning, where we were treated with the respect any guest deserves. I would never stay in a place where I genuinely feared for my safety.

Excellent location near the train station. Staff were very friendly. Large room with comfortable beds and large bathroom.Walkable to all interesting sites.

Breakfast was very poor, limited choices of cheese and cold cuts and almost no refill. The dining area is very small.I believe this makes the hotel low value for money.

Friendly staff. Clean, newly remodeled rooms. Close to train station. Bedsheets were lovely. Refrig, water and coffee in room. Great Thai restaurant very close by.

Great hotel and staff. Totally recommended. Very comfy room and bed.Didn't eat breakfast there but it was available. 3 minutes walk from the Station and between 10 and 20 minutes walk to main attractions in Central Strasbourg. Can also recommend La Fignette and Gurtlerhoft restaurants.
