Europe Hotel Vieux Port

The staff was great, especially the British gentleman who was very helpful. -- the room is small but clean and has dark curtains and air conditioning.

The location is in the seedier part of town and the bed was not super comfortable.

We chose the hotel because of the location near the port. The hotel was just fine, simple and plain, but fully adequate for our needs and the price was acceptable, considering the location.

The stairs were very steep and long with suitcases, but the reception offered to help take then down again when we departed.

Location is right in the heart of the city. The room was clean and staff very nice.

It could use a "face lift". It is a bit old. Also internet was very unstable.

The location of the hotel was the main reason we chose it. We were actually staying at another hotel, but on our third night, we decided to move here because of its proximity to the city center. It’s in an excellent location right in the heart of the Vieux-Port, close to restaurants and the ferry terminal. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Our room was located in the attic, and unfortunately, as soon as we opened the door, we were met with a strong smell of dampness and humidity. We had to breathe this in throughout the night, which is quite unhealthy—especially for someone with allergies or asthma, who simply wouldn’t be able to stay in such conditions. Additionally, the bed was noticeably smaller than a standard double, and the photos online were misleading in that regard.

Not a lot tried to double charge my arrived at 3 in the morning on the day of booking .said I had to give him another £88.Said no as I had already paid so he said that’s fine.then in the morning tried charging me another £20 for I don’t know what just some old lady we hadn’t met scribbling amounts on paper with a dirty look on her face.again I did t pay the amount and said I would pick it up with you.

As above it was very poor rude scam style property.felt un welcome .Had family of 5 kids living crammed in next room Probably migrant.

very strong smell of cigarettes, at some point there were cockroaches running in the room had to kill them. and then put my clothes in a plastic bag so they don't go into them. middle of night heard screaming and shouting of one of the guests in the staircase. and no cofee or tea makers in room so deceptive advertising there too.

Convenient location and really kind owners

Small rooms, old building and forniture, no fridge in the room, no shampoo (just a hand soap in the shower), and they only speak french. The photos on Booking are not accurate. For the same price you can find better options in the same city area.

Location of the hotel is awesome. A few steps from Old Port. Staff was very helpful and breakfast was good enough.

Bad

An absolute hovel. Dirty. No safe despite detail here. No phone. The first room I was given literally had a n Aircon area outside the window and blocked sun light. Never mind a view. The second one I unfortunately left the window open to freshen it up but that allowed some sort of diesel smell get in which is still stuck in my nostrils. Broken phone receiver sitting on wall , broken sockets, broken shower door partly repaired with a dirty shower curtain. Broken shower head holder in which sits a shower hose that is the incorrect size and needs to be hand held to wash. Broken lift, supposedly but seems to work for some. Broken soap dispenser in the shower that is left there empty while a heavy dispenser is left for use, while you try to hold the misdirected shower hose. Broken card machine, cash only. AVOID

Excellent location close to Vieux Port, just off the Canebière. Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable beds

Room was on 4th floor, lift not working. No tea/coffee making facikities as advertised. Noisy, apparently from air conditioning plant on landing - not in room so couldn't be turned off.

Amazing location

Bedroom smelt. Stairs to the room smelt. Bathroom very old. Didn’t have a proper shower, just a hand held one in the bath.
