Pros +
- The property is well maintained. The swimming pool water was crystal clear and very inviting. The outside area for sitting and relaxing was excellent. The host couldn’t have been more gracious and welcoming. We had a 2 bedroom sea view suite with a livingroom and it worked out great for us. It was very nice and clean. The property is somewhat far from the city center but that didn’t deter us from getting Uber rides and seeing the sights. We ate at the restaurant 2 nights and the food was excellent.
- Every single staff member went above and beyond and was so professional and kind — I’ve stayed in a lot of really nice hotels around the world and the attitude of the staff here really stands out to me. So nice. Loved the history of the building and all the hospitality touches throughout the experience.
- Lovely building and views. Great room
Cons -
- There really wasn’t anything we didn’t like about the property.
- The fake grass and fake bushes behind the pool really cheapen the aesthetic. Replacing these with real plants would really elevate the hotel and experience!
- Not transparent about building work that included drilling in the early hours of the morning. I’d advise in this situation to provide some ear plugs as rooms are not sound proofed well

Very nice place, kind of speak-easy and definitely not a classical hotel
The communication before and during the stay and the attention to details or to the guests has some ups and downs. It could be highly improved with small adjustments. You may sometimes feel as in a friends house which unfortunately also sometimes gives you the feeling of amateurism.
Quiet, comfortable bed, very clean.
1. the information was misleading as to imply that this was a hotel with grounds and the normal services.2. rarely any staff around, doors locked, lights off.3. restaurant closed most nights of the week.4. reluctance to provide a pre-booked breakfast because they were setting up for a brunch.5. breakfast ridiculously over-priced.6. pool very small, in the shade and no space around it.7. garden the size of a small suburban house in the UK not a purported luxury hotel with grounds.8. bedroom lighting was inadequate9. no extractor fan in bathroom which was a carve out of a compact bedroom - told to open the window.10. premium price for sea view - was a joke - about a mile away through a narrow street - for small glimpse11. limited parking 12. this was not a full-service leisure hotel - more an small corporate meeting centre
Great pool and nice sized room, cool furnishing
bathroom could do with an upgrade
Very nice and relaxed atmosphere. Great rooms and beds.
Breakfast could be a little better. Eggs were not really done. We missed some more of the fantastic french bread. Make sense that you order breakfast the day before, but its a little difficult when you don't know what and how much you get. We had two rooms with a bathroom and a connecting hallway. AC unit in one of the room which was then a little cold where as the other was a generally a little too warm.
Very nice hotel, everything is nice and sincere. Very clean, comfortable rooms, pleasant atmosphere. Excellent breakfasts, which were served for us upon request, satisfying all our wishes. Special thanks to Marianna and Victoria for their warm attitude and sincere atmosphere! It felt like we had come to stay with friends who were very happy to see us. We will miss and will definitely come back!
Nothin. All was great!!!
Pricey but doesn't deliver what it's marketed as. Worst value for money I've ever had on booking.com
It's marketed as a hotel full of history but the reception and bar closes at 8pm, and has no restaurant on premises - closest shop or restaurant is 10-15min walk. History should not equate to old and unkept. Conveniently, there's no cancel policy or refund. We ended up booking somewhere else the next morning and just accepted the fact we lost money - could have been at a brand new 4-star hotel on the beach for that price!
The hotel is in a lovely old chateau.
Poor quality renovation and the furnishing felt very cheap. We spent 10 days here, and constantly had to remind them to give us the right amount of towels. The towels were often dirty or smelly. The service was very casual, friendly but not professional. Definitely not a great value for money. Probably one of my worst choices.
Passable
The room wasn't made up every day, as was requested becuase the sheets smelt mouldy. When I raised this with reception they told me it was the smell of fresh paint as it had jsut be repainted after a leak. It was definitely not the smell of fresh paint, but unpleasant damp / mould smell. There was also no kitchen open / no room service and not much else around in the area so was difficult in the evening for food with a small child. Got uber eats, in the end....
it’s a really beautiful house and a unique place to stay
the amenities are pretty old and small, the pool especially looks better online than in person. there was also an issue with up charging for a bed that wasn’t advertised on booking.com.
nice building
it looked totally different on the photos and real life. Room was super disappointing as it was dark - small - smelly. They were calling it 'castle' but its not even close to a castle. am not sure what do they mean by castle or Château as its not a Château indeed! we paid a lot of money for 2 nights stay and it was a total disaster. we could not stay in the room because of breakfast smells because kitchen is middle of the building - no door anything whole room was full of smell.
This is the sweetest find! The staff is wonderful, friendly, and tries very hard to be accommodating. They gave us great restaurant recommendations. I think many people choose this place to interact with other guests, but we elected to stick to ourselves, and everyone left us to do that equally well. Breakfast is great, as well!
There isn’t an elevator (which I didn’t even think about when booking), so if you’re on the third floor with a heavy bag, you’re hauling it up those steps. The view from the room is worth it, though!
The hotel was a lovely building, well kept. Our private garden was lovely.
When we booked it we were under the impression it had a restaurant, it didn't.was a good 10 minutes walk to the nearest restaurant. Found the breakfast at 28€ or 15€ expensive for what you get.
Not much, thankfully we only stayed there one night...
The room was on the ground floor next to a storage area (door left open most of the time). Windows were so high that you couldn't see out. We literally felt like we were in a basement. The "deposit" of €350 for a one night stay was excessive. Never in 30 years of worldwide travel have we had to block such a large amount on our credit card. The receptionist informed us that this was needed "in case we break things in the room". Not the best way to make guests feel welcome if you want our opinion. We packed up and ran the next morning. Horrible experience is a mild statement.
The location is nice and the overall building/outdoor is very pleasant
The attic room was really uncomfortable, hard to walk without bumping the head, hard to climb the stairs
Beautiful villa with perfect views, amazing food, and wonderful hosts. You can enjoy breakfast in the garden, relax at the pool, and enjoy the beautiful vistas of the Calanques mountains or the ocean. The location is perfect for visiting the city and enjoying the beach life.
It's a lovely house with lots of potential to be amazing. Staff were lovely and the food from the pop-up chef was great!
We stayed in the bedroom one on the ground floor with a private terrace but unfortunately the terrace was not private - several guests wandered past our windows and the cleaner in the morning decided to make a noise right outside the window at 6.20am scaring the bejesus out of me! Our TV also did not work for the first 24 hours.
The building and furnishings were just as I’d hoped- a real sense of history. Our private garden was large and very private. Also the small kitchen,we took was an excellent idea given the location of the property - we used the fridge and coffee making facilities only.
Dining was very limited and on our second evening, we found the chateau completely closed down for the evening when we returned at 8 o’ clock! We had not been prepared for this and were quite upset especially as the receptionist charged past us at the gate, as she left the property!! The website did not say the chef didn’t operate on Mondays nor that no staff stayed at night. It was our last evening in France having stayed in Nhow La Cornice and NH Collection ( both booked through Booking also ) and with friends in Cannes. Luckily, we were able to order a pizza and had a bottle of wine in the fridge!!Lack of proper communication and information sharing almost ruined our stay! As a result, although a charming chateau , we would hesitate to recommend it to friends, especially if they hadn’t a car.
