The bathrooms were extremely small very very small and not safe the shower didnt work properly and the toilet space was too small you can easily hit your head when standing .rooms are dark not bright lights, and service and breakfast was not good at all, We came for the name of Carlton and it does not meet any expectation of a carlton hotel, it feels like a 3 star than a 4.

Very noisy rooms due to plastic flors rather than carpets, poorly maintained curtains and plumbing, bizarre beds on wheels that move unexpectly!

The hotel was in a perfect location to explore Lille. The rooms were spacious and the bar was lovey. The staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

The hotel location was excellent, the room was lovely.

Overall, the staff were very rude (same as other reviews);As you read my review, remember this hotel is advertised as a 4 star (out of 5, not out of 20)…1.The hotels policy check-in is noted as 4pm. However, I received an email from Booking.com that the check-in was 2pm.When we requested early check-in, the hotel declined. We assumed this was the room was still being cleaned, however, once again we were surprised to find out the room had been ready for several hours. It was merely the hotel/staff not allowing us in the room due to check-in "policy".2.We pre-booked secure hotel parking. The hotel/booking.com advertise this as "on-site". Actually, the parking is a 7 min walk in a different building, and we were charged the same 30euro per day for parking, even though it was off-site.3.Due to the issues with check-in times, the hotel stored our suitcases. Once we entered the room, we couldn’t find our baggage. It appeared to still be downstairs, when we requested it be brought up to the room reception said “NO”. We provide you with a case trolley and you take your cases yourself.4.We requested a child's bed in the room. This was at 6.45pm. Reception said "NO", housekeeping has gone home.5.The room toilet was blocked upon our arrival. We requested this be fixed whilst we were at dinner. Reception said "NO", maintenance have gone home. The toilet was finally fixed the same day, but not cleaned, so the left-overs of the last users dinner was still in the pan!6.Breakfast is served in the hotels nightclub area. Black walls, black glass ceilings that has been lowered, velvet seating. You get the idea…. Oh, and because you are in the nightclub, with your family, having breakfast, you are using a glass from the bar, that is next to the pint glasses and shot glasses. Nice…7.When the child’s bed did arrive, it was a frame and a mattress. No bed cover, not pillow, no bedsheets. A bear frame & foam pad.

Great location in the city centre.Decor is lovely in the hotel, with a great bar. Staff were helpful with requests for birthday decorations.

The size of the lift and the toilet in the room were very small.Breakfast was very busy and not enough tables for the amount of guests.

Location was excellent hotel was near to almost everything.

All the hotel especially the reception was very dark and could do with better lighting. Also the bath towels are very small more for a child than an adult. When we booked we did ask for one of the rooms for two single beds but on arrival was told booking.com did not let them know. They also said that there was nothing they could do which I found very unprofessional as four star hotel it seems that they couldn’t be bothered. So overall didn’t make a good start to our holiday. Would I stay there again I’m not sure. I would like the hotel reply to me and explain.

Location was very central to the Christmas market and the room was huge, with a balcony. The breakfast (included) was also lovely. Staff were warm and friendly.

We are a group of six old college friends who meet every year for a reunion so we like to choose accommodation that provides the right level of comfort and value for money and The Carlton certainly did not disappoint.The location could not have been better, the staff were so helpful and the rooms were really spacious with comfortable beds.Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice to suit all tastes.The ‘we love view’ cocktail bar was the perfect rendezvous for pre dinner drinks and the cocktails were superb!

We only had one small complaint that being our room had an over the bath shower and we found it quite difficult to select the shower type and indeed switch the water off as the tap which regulated this was so stiff.

Excellent location. The breakfast was good with a mix of pastries, fruits, cold and hot dishes etc etc. The room was nice and redecorated since we last came. The hotel has a lot of charm.

There was a lot of noise outside the windows, in the street for a long time in the evening/night.The rainshower wasn’t working.

Gym did not have bike and was not nice. Room was big and had a great view but was tired. Very small shower.

No room service was being served, the internal telephone system was so difficult to understand and use, I ended up using my mobile phone to call reception.

The best location! Wonderfully comfortable beds and excellent shower. Quite steep sides to the bath, so as the shower is over the bath this might be difficult for some people - worth making a request when booking. Staff at reception very welcoming and helpful. Excellent breakfast. Our 2nd visit and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
