    Pros +

    • The hotel is located centrally. The breakfast is not very varied, but what is offered is fresh and tasty. The staff has done their very best despite many technical problems. The 5 (passable) grade is primarily thanks to them.
    • The hotel is in a great location to walk the city. There are plenty of restaurants close but our favorite was the one in the hotel. The room was a nice size for 2 people and the staff was very helpful.
    • We really enjoyed our stay. The room was a great size, spotlessly clean, and the bathroom had an excellent shower. The staff were attentive and very welcoming, which made our experience even better. The location was excellent — just a short walk from Lille’s main square.

    Cons -

    • The building needs serious maintenance. The elevator did not work. The heating system in the room did not work. Other reviews tell me that this has been going on for a while. Hot water was erratic. Sometimes you didn't have it. After the first day, we were offered to change our room. The keypad on the new room's door did not work. I had to go up and down the stairs twice. What is most absurd is that we were asked to pay a 150 euro deposit at check-in for a hotel with so many problems. Go figure! The hotel management did not bother to reach out and talk to us. They let the front desk staff face the criticisms. Despite all the problems, we were only offered a meagre %10 refund. It is not right to charge 200-something euros per night for a room, fail to deliver, and then not offer a serious refund.
    • Parking was awkward and dangerous Area was run down
    • We wished for someplace to put our clothes - other than working out of our suitcases. There was a tiny closet, but totally inadequate for 2 people. The "desk" was very shallow, so not great for use as a desk. We used one of the two side tables instead. The other one held a suitcase.

Location was excellent, as were the breakfast offerings. We enjoyed getting tokens to use at the bar if we skipped the daily room cleaning. Wastebaskets were always emptied. The mini-bar was complimentary and re-stocked daily. Lots of windows, but the drapes provided night darkness. Staff was unfailingly polite and professional. Great seating in room: 2 side chairs plus a small sofa.

It was a horrific shock when we were told in the evening that the hotel simply turned off the airconditioning.I almost didn't sleep. For me airconditing is a key factor for a room unless it's winter. If I had known the that you turned off the airconditioning when we arrived I would have immedeately booked a room in another Hotel. I think it's completely unheard of to turn of the airco without mentioning this to customers.

Staff very welcoming and pleasant throughout the stay apart from one lady at the bar one evening who was quite blunt when we went for drinks. My french is not good but I try which she seemed frustrated with. The mocktail I ordered was mostly ice and very watery, not worth €8.The breakfast was really good, lots of choice. The room was clean but on the first day we had to ask for coffee pods and milk, the mini bar was stocked and free which was a nice treat. We added the 'green' sign to the door on day 2 and received a free drink in the bar for the room not being serviced. Day 3 we asked for the room to be serviced as we needed the bin emptying etc, the coffee again wasn't stocked and after a long day of walking I had to ask for pods and milk again. A small thing but if you offer a coffee machine then pods should be a given. The 'aircon' advertised only works if it's switched to cooling for the whole hotel so it's not truly Aircon. During our stay the hotel was on warm mode so the Aircon in the room didn't work. When we raised this we were swiftly brought a fan but Aircon was one of the reasons we chose this hotel so that was a disappointment. This should be detailed in the booking.com listing. The pillows were quite hard but we got use to them. Fantastic location for the city centre and the rest of Lille if you're happy for walking and close to the metro.

The room was very clean and everything you might need was present. The minibar was filled with snacks and drinks, free of charge. The receptionist was very friendly and explained everything very well in English.

My room was next to the street and there was a lot of noise, so for light sleepers I would recommend bringing earplugs if you know which room you'll be staying at. My stay was on a busy saturday evening, so your experience might be different on weekdays.

The team was extremly welcoming; location was cozy, central, safe area. For sure will return there when in Lille. Highly recommended.

The price was good. The location was so so

I lost my luggage so when I asked the front staff where to go for clothes, shampoo, etc. Je just posted that way. Also, I apparently had complimentary breakfast but wasn’t told. Found out at check out when paying for the bill.

The location is convenient The staff was friendly and helpful The cleaning was excellent

The mattress was on too doftThe air-conditioning needed a change of filters

Lovely little hotel very close to where everything was happening, but still quiet. Room was lovely and big as well as the big bathroom ans separate toilet.

Breakfast was minimal and the food needed to be covered. Some days looked like second day food.

The staff were so helpful and gave the children gifts when we arrived and also on our beds when we got home from visiting the Christmas market! Nothing was too much trouble. The staff made our visit very special and we will be back!
