    Pros +

    • Location, local transport, comfy bed
    • The staff was very friendly. They helped interpret with my Uber Eats driver. Also, they realized at check out that I had accidentally been charged tax for 2 people (I was alone) and quickly refunded it. The service was exceptional.
    • The bedroom was a separated room, so it’s convenient if one wants to sleep and another one wants to stay awake.

    Cons -

    • Noisy neighberhood, nowhere to buy drinking water or any snacks
    • The trash can in the bathroom was full of trash from the last tenants. And my room number wasn’t appeared on the breakfast’s list from the host, even though I’ve booked with the breakfast included.
    • One thing that could be improved is the quality of the towels—one of mine had a stain on it.

I really enjoyed my stay at Residhotel Lille Vauban. The location is excellent—close to the university, in a quiet and peaceful area, and still within walking distance of the city center. You can easily reach everything on foot, including the Wazemmes market and Merveilleux de Fred. The beds were comfortable, and the hotel was pleasantly warm inside, even when it was –6°C outside.

One thing that could be improved is the quality of the towels—one of mine had a stain on it.

Easy to find.Helpful and courteous staffCentral location

Underground car park challenging to enter and exit

Every room was perfectly prepared for our team, exactly accordong the request. I was really surprised by the quality of breakfasts and the possibility of choosing dishes. The invoice has been sent on time.

There was nothing like that. Of course the residence is located close to the university, but is still about 20 minutes by foot from the city center and 15 minutes more to the station.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location is a nice part of the town

The sheets on the bed were not very clean

The room with oven was useful

When we came little earlier than the check in time we were not allowed to get into the room

    Spacious, comfortable

Seems a bit pricy for the location, breakfast was poor.

Happy with the spacious studio and the fresh pastries at breakfast. Thrilled with Afaf who went above and beyond to make our check in/out smooth

Hotel staff was very accommodating, especially to keeping luggage in their storage room while we were out for the day (after or before check in hours)

Bathroom could have been more cleaner(dust around sink and shelves) and bed sheets had some stains which could easily be fixed

Very good room. Quiet, clean. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Great location, very near the Citadel area, which is my favorite area of Lille. On bus route straight into central Lille. Short walk to Metro station. Nice kitchenette in the studio accommodation, which saved us a lot of money, as we did not have to eat out in restaurants. We did have the breakfast at the hotel. For 11 euros per head (about £9) it was well worth the money. The hotel is very easy to find, because it is directly opposite the Catholic University building.

For the money, I do not think you will find anything much better than this hotel.

Marc was very helpful at check in recommending a restaurant that was so good we went every night! The hotel is well situated for the Lille antique market and good for its safe parking

Big bathroom, good towels. Room on the backside of the hotel, so very limited traffic noise. Nice breakfast. Good location.

From booking I got the impression that parking space as avaible (as in: book a room AND park your car). That wasn't the case: you have to message the hotel to also book a parking space, that was not clear to me when I booked. There is only a very limited number of parking spaces. We had to park on the street, quite expensive. Also: the bed was uncormfortable.

Breakfast, clean and functional room, friendly staff, great location (next to the university)

    7FalkPosted on: 9-5-2024

Across Université Catholique de Lille, so perfect for business there. City center can be reached by foot. Spacy room and kitchen facilities.

Gotten a little old, but perfectly fine for business sleepovers for the university.

I was attending a conference at the University Catholique de Lille, and this little apartment-hotel is located right across the street from the university's main entrance. For me, this was an excellent location but keep in mind that this is not the centre of town (which is about 15mins away by bus). However, the area is reasonably well connected by bus (the metro station is a little further away). If you are coming from the train station/the Lille Europe station/downtown, there is a bus that drops you off right in front the hotel/university. This building is an older construction, so the rooms are actually a decent size even though this is a budget accommodation. And the high ceilings also give you some space to breathe. The room also has a little kitchenette with a sink and induction stove. It comes with pots and plates, a microwave and a coffee maker. There's also a little dining space for two. If you intend to be in Lille for several days/weeks, perhaps because you are a visiting scholar at the university, this is a good option. The bathroom was okay. Toiletries include only one bottle of body soap-shampoo. There is no complementary tea/coffee in the room, but dining room has a coffee machine and you can get free coffee 24/7.

The room was HOT! There is no AC, no ceiling fan (and I am given to understand that this is the norm in northern France but doesn't change the fact that it was uncomfortably hot). I was able to get a floor/table fan from the reception, and that (plus the open windows) helped a bit. But I had to sleep with the fan blowing in my face or else it was too hot. If you don't like a fan blowing in your face, I am not sure how you'd manage on a hot day. And I was there in end-Aug! The breakfast was really very simple. Just bread/carbs, boiled eggs, and dairy. A salad/some vegetables would have been nice. Maybe some fruit too. The building is old and the decor is tired. The toilet pot in my bathroom was stained and looked ugly. I asked for it to be cleaned but no one came. There was also no room service for 3 nights (but I didn't ask for it either).Check-in is at 4pm, and even though I had requested early check-in, the room wasn't ready when I got there around 2 and had to wait till about 4.

Close to the center, calm environment and very clean.

It was a little outdated. The fixtures were either old or really uncared for.

    7AlexPosted on: 8-26-2024

Clean and well equipped for a short stay in a quiet location. Staff very helpful.

Extra cost of parking and lack of Air Con. Also, expensive for what it was.

I am sorry but I would definitely not book this place again. I almost spent a sleepless night due to the heat and no A C. I would definitely avoid this place in hot summer. The breakfast was just about right.
