Hôtel La Tour Intendance

The location was awesome.

The room was SO small there was no space for our two suitcases and for us to move around. The shower ran all over the floor, it did not drain properly, nor did the sink. Stayed in a lot of small European hotel rooms but this one is off the small scale.

This was our second stay, in the same room, so I think that speaks volumes. The location is really excellent. It's really quiet given how central it is. The room is comfortable and well equipped, and I like the fact that it has both a bath and a shower. There are excellent places to eat and drink very near by.

It's not a major thing, and I couldn't find fault last time, but the state of the lower slats on the blind in the bathroom really let it down this time; they were covered in black mould - which wiped off easily when I tried. It was just a bit puzzling that they didn't get a wipe over, given the cleanliness everywhere else - it would have taken less than 10 minutes. I spent the whole stay itching to clean them myself but my husband wouldn't let me as I was on my holidays.

The location, room, and interior design were excellent. The hotel is exactly where you want to be: set back 1 block from the main strip with ample restaurants, shops, and tram access below.

You can smell mold in the room. There were black stains on the wall. This is quite normal for an old building. Nevertheless, not 100% pleasant.

The room was very bad and needs renovation. Bathroom is extremely small and when you get a shower the floor and even bed get wet. The bed is very close to the bathroom and there is no door. The toilet is also very small.I wouldn't recommend this hotel. I had a very bad experience.

I loved the aesthetics of the bathroom and its tiles, although it was quite small. The bed was comfortable. The decor was lovely.

The location is wonderful, right in the heart of the city and close to all the shops, restaurants & bars. It's a beautiful, old building, very clean bedrooms & bathroom.

Our bedroom was very small and although nice and clean, it was a little impractical with nowhere to store suitcases, nowhere to hang towels or dressing gowns in the shower room. The bedside socket didn't work and so my phone didn't charge overnight which was irritating. Could do with some attention to the smaller details.

The size of the room was very good. The staff were very friendly making us feel welcome. Parking underground was very convenient.

Lack of hot water for tea at breakfast and size of tea cups were tiny. The rest of breakfast was fine.

The room had a large window facing a café next door, but since there was no curtain, the café staff could see directly into the room, so there was no privacy. It was disappointing considering this is a 3 star hotel and we paid 133 EUR per night.

Couldn’t sleep during my stay and not because of the noise as the room is sound proof, it’s the heater which was kept ON. I’m unable to control my AC; i found out the 2nd day that the control is at Reception. I asked the lady at reception to keep it on cool as I cannot sleep if the temp is above 20. But they just kept switching it back to heater at night/late night. I often woke up around 2 - 3 am sweating. I don’t know why they have to decide on what temperature guest should have in the room. I just don’t have the energy nor the time to argue and complaint again, I already informed them of my AC preference. I traveled a lot in Europe, I always rate my stay 9 or 10 being great… I often book 3 or 4 stars and being above 8 on booking.com rating, that’s how I chose this hotel. I’m not fuzzy nor require attention from hotel staff. I go out to my day activities and come back to sleep.. but this hotel terrible! My closet mirror has a huge crack and bathroom mirror frame came off but to me this is minor as I need it only to apply my face creams. It’s the sleepless nights I resented so much and paying 500 euros for 3 nights is BS.
