Excellent location and comfortable room, but very small W.C.
Rooms smelled until you turned on the air conditioning.
Convent location
We drove and have to carry our luggage to the hotel by ourselves.
The quit room was comfortable
The AC didn't work, because Mercure is working on green foot print ..., but is using metal coffee capsules ??That's a joke !
Great room and fabulous breakfast. Location was directly next to Palais des Papes. Also underground car park was very easy to use.
Nothing it was perfect
The location was very good, the breakfast had a good variety
The shower hand faucet didn't work consiatently
Room was fairly ok with a good view, but I still do not get the cultural aspect for not having a place to wash hands and a bidet in the toilet. Breakfast had a good selection, but the do it yourself by cutting bread/salami/cheese and having a "touch free" approach is a big "NO" at least for me.
Room had a door to another room - problem was with the neighbours coming in the last day being noisy...and by saying this I would add that even a fart would have been heard at 4 am from our bed... This I found unacceptable for the 4* hotel. Also I found a bit annoying the room number question at the breakfast (though I must admit the gentleman's politeness to asking us for it far exceeded the hotel's policy on it, so cheers for him)
Location is good.
The hotel is not 4*; it’s 3* maximum. The rooms need renovation.
Everything was squeaky clean.
Hotel prices are too high in general for small rooms with only a wall outside the window.
The location was convenient to restaurants, shops, and train station. The room for six nights was comfortable.
Everything was good.
The property was clean and well located.
On our first morning they indicated the hot water would be turned off at 10. My husband was soaped up at 9:30 when it was turned off! Kitchen staff not happy either!! Once it was turned on later in the day, we (and several other guests - as discussed at breakfast) had no water pressure and were unable to shower. The water that trickled out was either hot or cold - video provided and verified by staff. Evening staff provided no option to shower elsewhere or discount and no acknowledgement of issue. No management on site. We emailed the ownership and heard nothing back. When we were packed and checking out, they offered us a different room for a shower… knowing we had a train to catch. The true character shows up when something goes wrong. I would not recommend.
The breakfast buffet at this hotel was among the best I've ever had. The variety, quality, and taste were all exceptional, ranking 5 stars and in the gourmet category.
It was difficult to find the hotel as the names of three hotels in the area are VERY similar, and instructions received sent us to another hotel. The room was tight.
We love the location of this property, which is in the main Square and just beside the Palais Des Papes. It is so convenient to reach from the train station and everything is close at hand. We received an upgrade to a room with a balcony overlooking the main square. What a generous upgrade to provide us with, and it left us with wonderful lasting memories.
There was nothing we didn’t like.
Fabulous warm welcome by Yoann upon arrival, great communication from the team on email prior to arrival as well. I enquired about parking and they sent clear instructions on where to go, also clear instructions once you enter the car park about which level to park on depending on which Mercure you’re staying in. Short walk from the parking to the hotel. It couldn’t be more perfectly located. Bed comfortable, shower hot and powerful
Hotel is a bit tired but you’re in Avignon so most of your day is spent outside.
The location, while a bit of a challenge to get the car there to drop off our luggage, was simply spectacular. You could not get closer to the centre of the amazing city.
Amazing location! Super friendly stuff. Comfy rooms.
Nothing!
Centre to the main sites of Avignon. Staff very helpful and excellent. Very clean. It was rated excellent by us based on it being a city hotel.
Toilet being separated from bathroom should have had a water supply such as a sink.It would be helpful but not essential to a hotel having an electric socket gadget that could accept any foreign plug.
Good breakfast, friendly & helpful staff.Good central location.Good bathroom products.
The underground parking is practical for an old town, being a public parking, 2-3 minute walking distance away. Not ideal but likely hard to work around.
