    Pros +

    • Location is great. Staff was very responsive. It's a good value option.
    • Room had character. Quiet and clean. Great staff. Good breakfast-18 euro. Close to Papal Palace. Eat lamb risotto at Opera Cafe!!
    • This place is well thought out. It has style and a friendly staff. It exceeds three stars. I found it to be very quiet as well, and my room had a great view. No complaints.

    Cons -

    • Given that it's 4 stars, the decor is dated. With minor work the rooms could be much nicer. That said, it was comfortable and utilities worked well.
    • Can't drive up to door. Park in garage at Jean Juares and walk a few blocks. Tricky to drive to JJ parking-take a left thru city wall opening at Porte Sainte Michel and another quick left.
    • Some motorcycle noise at times.

The hotel is in a great location, very short walk to everything, including the bus station and local train station (not TGV). The room is very attractive and a nice size; the bathroom is big. We do wish there was more room for our clothes. We had the breakfast once during our 5 night stay and it was terrific. The breads were freshly baked. There was a nice array of cheeses, meats cereal, eggs. We thought it was an good value if you like to eat a few items for breakfast. The staff was all very nice and helpful. All in all, we highly recommend the hotel and will stay there again if we return to Avignon.

The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The location was great for perusing the town.

    Some motorcycle noise at times.

The location, the staff and the room with very good breakfast

    8rosamondPosted on: 10-12-2025

Rooms were modern and clean. If you want more space ask for a corner room, but if it’s still summer you may hear some of the bar noise below. It was not a big deal for us. Good breakfast with eggs, fruit and pastries. Nice first floor bar and patio. Location was a bit of a walk to the Popes Place but close to the local train station. Lots of shopping in town.

A bit noisy and the opposite side of town if you want all the restaurants.

The location is excellent, easy to get to from the train and right by the tourism office. The security in the hotel was excellent needing key entry. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices. Room was very clean and beds were comfortable. It could not have been better.

    Absolutely nothing

The breakfast was very good. There was a lot of variety and more than sufficient quantities.

There was no dresser in which to place clothes.

Great staff. Clean and comfortable. Inside the walls of Avignon.

Charming hotel kept immaculately clean with a wonderful staff. With proximity to train station a perfect location to explore the area from

The hotel is very well situated, clean and some of the staff was attentive.

Of the 4 nights we spent there, 2 of the nights, the electricity was tripped in our room by merely turning a light on and so the power went off. The first night, the manager went right to the breaker and fixed the problem( which he said had happened before and we suspect, quite often). The second time it happened also by merely turning the lights on on our last night in Avignon, the manager did not know how to fix it, so at 11:30 pm we had to move to another room or else be left in the dark. Upon check out, the clerk said he would reimburse us 15% for the trouble. We said in the US they would compensate our last night and he then said( with very huffy attitude) that he would give us 50% of the last night back. Honestly, given that 2 out of 4 nights the power went out and that they could not even fix it the last night, we did not think that was enough, but we did not want to engage in an argument. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.

The breakfast was amazing and a great location in the old city center. We were able to walk everywhere.

the room is spacious but on 3rd floor with no elevator, Carcassonne is a small town with no other attraction other than the castle

The hotel is located near train station and close to main places of interest. But it is necessary to remember that you will have difficulty with taxi or your car.

    Satisfactory property. Ok breakfast

When we checked in I asked for a good bottle of local wine, what the region is famous for. What I got was terrible.

    The location.

Staff was not particularly helpful, warm or welcoming. Our last 2 hotel stays in France had staff that bent over backward to always be helpful. Here we almost had to beg for a fresh towel to replace a used one that was tossed on the rack. Exception was Deborah who was very welcoming.

The deco was beautiful - art deco, calming colours, large room and bathroom. Location was perfect - not too far from the train station. Beds were super comfortable. Loved the balcony with the street view. We didn’t hear outside noises. Staff were lovely. We wished we could have stayed longer. Great checkout time. Would definitely book here again.

A lovely bright, spacious, room with a great view. Very quiet. Breakfast was very good. Lovely selection of items, staff kept topping up. Reception staff were very welcoming and kind. I left my bag in reception as I arrived early and they kindly took it up to my room before I checked in. Location is brilliant,
