- We loved everything. We were greeted at the door and given an overview of the historic property and our room. Such a lovely B&B with breakfast and that juicer! We made mimosas for breakfast. Wish we could have stayed longer because the location was perfect ... so close to train station, nice restaurants, shopping, and sights.
- The oranges, juicer, tea, and coffee were a nice touch. The host was friendly and able to accommodate our extra guest and extra night request.
- We loved this little jem!! ? oranges left out for us to make fresh orange juice in the morning, balcony so cute! Location was perfect for our first time in hamburg. Due to the recent airport strike, the hotel was so accommodating and able to stay an extra night without any issue. Highly recommend
Cons -
- Can't think of a thing.
- The check-in process was not smooth for us. The room has a key lock system which is not fire safe. Unfortunately, there were some ants in our room.
- The only issue we had was the difficulty in opening the main door. The key had to be jiggled and we were worried the key would break in the door.

Excellent location easy city to walk around and close to central station. The host was lovely and room inviting with an added touch of a complimentary continental breakfast only our last morning.
The only issue we had was the difficulty in opening the main door. The key had to be jiggled and we were worried the key would break in the door.
Good location close to the station. Unusual decor, though much thought had clearly gone into it. The orange juicer was a nice touch, as was the coffee machine (though I didn't use it). There were very nice cafes nearby which opened early in the morning, so I had a good breakfast (without needing more orange juice).
If you are leaving early (as I did, with a train to catch, and needing to eat breakfast beforehand), ask how to get out of the main door without a key. I also failed to turn off all the lights in the bathroom overnight - and there was a glass panel high up....
Good location, comfortable room
Didn’t know where to check in - no information provided. No instructions about check out - would have been good to see some people!
The Central Hotel bel étage is really a set of rooms above a restaurant, there is no reception or receptionist. However the rooms are great as was the breakfast, including squeeze your own fresh orange juice! The hotel is 5 mins from the railway station, within walking distance of most sights and close to many restaurants.
We found it quite hard to find.
The location is very central but not noisy/crowded. Onşy 5 minutes walk from the train station. It is a very old building but renovated with great taste. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming. We loved staying here.
Breakfast is not included in the price of the room but we received a complementary continental breakfast every morning which we really appreciated and enjoyed. There is a filter coffee machine, kettle, tea bags plus fresh oranges and a juicer too - perfect!
Very clean and the staff are friendly. Excellent location close to the central station
Eccentric and beautiful - golden wooden floors, very comfortable beds, arty lighting. The fruit, coffee, orange juice and tiny cookies were delicious. Hosts very friendly, English speaking and unfussy. Fabulous for Christmas markets. Highly recommend.
The old character, the location, the ordinary shower products provided ?, the warm welcoming staff member, who welcomed us with his lovely soul, sharing a bit of the history of this old building. We also really made good use of the juicer in the room and loved our little snacks, oranges and fruits. It’s such a difference to stay at a warm welcoming hotel like central in comparison to hotel chains. The location was also really amazing. We walked everywhere, were close to the mainstation, had lovely walks by the Alster and even managed to have breakfast opposite of the hotel. Would really consider to stay here again. Thank you ??
The location was convenient and the room was cool and unique in an old building that did not feel old.
No reception and no breakfast.
This was a beautiful hotel near the train station…very clean and comfortable with a lovely host
The keys were a little complicated to use to get in and out of the facility
Close to Bahnhof. Easy to reach and several restaurants around. The fresh juice and coffee making facilities were definitely great. In general definitely an ok stay
The room (number 2) is probably not the top room out of the five rooms available (according to host/owner) so that may be the reason for me being somewhat hesitant since most visitors before me have scored very high figures and extremely good comments. So my expectations were much higher than the actual outcome. Also we have been around with interrail for four weeks and we have stayed in fantastic appartments/hotels so my references were very very high level. Bel etage did not reach that level. Also I miss a fridge to be able to take beakfast in the room. The breakfast restaurant on the other side of the street cannot be recommended. Instead go to the neighbouring bakery with very good value for money
Owner is very nice. Room is clean. Comfy bed. Many restaurants and food kiosks nearby. Not far from train station.
Lovely room, comfortable bed, nice staff, good location with restaurants and bars but still quiet.
The location close to the train station was superb. We walked with our suitcases no problems. The restaurants on the street were also great. Enough choices you don’t need to wander far. The host was amazing, made us feel very welcome. Surprised us with a cherry cake on second day. Loved, loved the fresh juice manual orange juicer in our room with an abundance of oranges made available. I ended up buying on online so should arrive by the time we get home. Loved loved the open terrace area to relax, outdoor space is so important. Easy check in, we arrived a bit early but no problems, just called the mobile number and host arrived in 5 mins. We were very grateful for this. Had a bath and a sep shower too which was awesome. So quiet too.
Lots of stairs, but we expected this and the host helped drag up our suitcases. Unfortunately we didn’t get to try the restaurant on this visit. I wouldn’t call this suitable for families with babies who have to carry them up the stairs but for families with kids who don’t mind climbing stairs then its perfect as there is a sep bedroom along with sep fold up bed for extra kid.
In general it was ok because of the walking distance to the city center.
For me the room was looking more outdated than on the photos. Also it was with the windows looking on the street, that was very noisy during the night. Ventilation was not working an the temperature of the water in the bathroom sometimes was uncontrollable.
The room was spacious and furnished with modernized furniture. Staff were quite friendly and helpful:) The location is awesome!!! It’s in the heart of the city with lots of restaurants around. Street parking can be reached within few minutes walk.
