- Loved the location, bed was big and comfy, nice little spa area, lovely design.
- Architecture and good sized rooms
- Felt like a 5 star hotel Best breakfast buffet I¿ve ever had and I just got off the Queen Mary2
Cons -
- Fridge didn¿t work
- The graffiti all over Hamburg was a surprise¿which had nothing to do with this incredible historic yet modern hotel
- I asked about terrace on 11, flat, they said to me that does not exist. I pay breakfast in cash, and another day the man in reception said, that I did not pay..., and i should pay (again?)

Interesting lobby, fine room.
I couldn't find any entrance on the same level as the park. I had to go far around and back down to street level.
Loved the entrance and the building itself it's outstanding
Staff wasn't clear about the city tax and the deposit.Plus, the check-out was out long
Amazing breakfast, super friendly staff. Parking was full so they help with a place on the street. The architecture of the hotel and the room are amazing.
Location is a bit sketchy if you arrive late evening/night. Nothing happens, but the close metro station has very interesting people :)
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel - it was exceptional in many ways. The location is right by the S-Bahn/U-Bahn station, so getting around the city was effortless. The building itself is genuinely memorable: the hotel occupies a beautifully restored water tower originally built in 1910, giving the stay a sense of character and history that you don’t often find in city-centre hotels. The staff were friendly and professional, and the lobby area created a great first impression.
The only minor inconveniences were with the elevators and breakfast during peak times. The elevators could get quite busy, and on one occasion we waited more than ten minutes, eventually opting to take the stairs. Breakfast was good, but when the hotel was full, it was a bit challenging to find a table right away - a short wait was needed before being seated.
Great views, location, neighborhood
The location in a large former water tower surrounded by a park is spectacular. Great views from the higher floors. The hotel is right next to a major subway station and a short walk to hundreds of restaurants and bars in lively Schanzenviertel. Breakfast is excellent as well as the staff.
Maybe some more brightness in the lobby would be nice, even though this old massive building has a cave like atmosphere
Nice experience except for the last night when A Restaurant staff (Kessel) behaved not professionally and disrepectfully to me.
The Italian TV channels. It should have been selected RAI 1 or RAI 2. The ones offered , TV Parlamento and RAI Storia, were not interesting
Centrally locatedThey offer the Bern package which is greatBreakfast nice
Good breakfast
I booked two rooms for my family group. In one room, the curtain that lets you see the bathroom didn't work (you can see the bathroom interior from the room, because instead of a wall, there's a huge glass panel). This meant that whenever a person uses the bathroom for any purpose, the other can see everything from outside. Since it is a mechanical curtain, it can't be closed manually. So, imagine how awkward it was! Also, in both rooms, the A/C didn't work. It is mid June, 29 degrees Celsius in Hamburg, carpet floors: go figure. Fair to say that at least there were windows that allow a partial opening and gave a little relief to the very warm interior. That is not what I expected from a four-star luxury hotel, which is expected to attain to higher standards. You pay an accordingly higher rate after all. When I let the from desk know of these issues, they said THEY WERE AWARE of the A/C issue. Oh boy that pissed me off. I can understand that something suddenly malfunctions - it happens. But letting us check-in knowing that they were giving us room without A/C in a hot summer day, that was so disrespectful to say the least. The only compensation I received was free parking (one day). Unbelievable.
Good location, reception and facilities
Worn down, not great soundproof, window between bedroom and bathroom, the curtains didn’t work so no privacy - you could look straight through
The location is really good, close to the station, very central.
It’s a old hotel, needs some renovation. I got a room on the first floor, was a bit loud I could hear people on the street and the room looked not really good cared. Was enough for a really short stay and I also had a standard room. I confess I was ém expecting a bit more from the hotel.
I want to live there! The room design and overall architecture is superb and I loved the view! Staff is very friendly and accommodating!
The parking lot number 12(?) below ground next to the entry, is too small so the car cannot be parked properly without blocking the next two lots
Great location right next to public transport, really good breakfast
The sound proofing in between the rooms is not great. The man in the room next to me was snoring all night and it was just as loud as if I’d shared a room with him.
Really nice first impression on arrival. Great interiors in lobby area. Competent stuff while checking out.
I booked a double room but was given a twin room. Since I arrived too late at night, I didn’t have the time and energy to go all the way back and discuss it but I wouldn’t have expected it given the price difference and reputation of the hotel. Furniture in the room looked quite old. Shower had was a disaster.
Location is perfect.
AC unit I think is not working - i had to open the 2 windows.. (reported but no one came)
Everything was beautiful. Would definitely stay again. Views from the rooms were amazing. The cave bar had such a cozy and warm welcome.Such a fantastic base to see Hamburg from and soo very full of character too
Nothing not to like....perfect
