The location, the breakfast and the cleanliness.

We asked for an extended night and were given a much higher price than what was available on booking.

The hotel is in a beautiful location near the Alster lake. It's in a period building with very nice features (high ceilings, spacious room, wooden floor, nice big windows) completely modernised and comfortable. The staff was very friendly, though not all the information was conveyed (for example, at the check-in, I asked for a gluten-free breakfast but the morning staff didn't know anything about it so I had to wait 15 min for bread). But breakfast food was tasty and had reasonable choices also with vegan options. The room as well as the breakfast area had coffee and tea available throughout the day and late into the evening. Nice toiletries provided. Would happily stay again.

More vegan options would be nice. There were no forks at breakfast and staff were slow to react to such things.

Big room, beautiful location, nice breakfast

We were deeply impressed by the Boutique Hotel Alsterblick, whose refined charm, exceptional comfort, and timeless style create an atmosphere of understated elegance. The hotel seamlessly combines sophistication with warmth, making every moment of the stay both distinguished and inviting.Breakfast is very good and service is perfect!

Maybe a little bit further from the center, but anyway the location is great! Bus stop is 2 min walking distance. It is just next to the beautiful Alster Lake, nice for walking. But if you need to go for business meetings, then it is 30 min walking to the center.

A lovely location and well-appointed rooms.

The breakfast buffet area is very cramped and can get difficult to maneuver when lots of persons are trying to fill their plates. The lamps on the nightstands are not suitable for reading a book in bed, as they are too dim and diffused.

Pleasant architechture and a good mix of renovated "old" with new, so that the room & common areas look very nice.View onto the water was very nice. Breakfast was of very good quality.

The beds were hard and squeaky, there was no air conditioning. The positioning of the chandelier right above the bed, raised some questions about safety. The layout of seating for breakfast was a bit of a labyrinth and somewhat cramped, as well as the selection of options at breakfast was clearly limited by available space.

I lived in Hamburg several years ago and often walked past this building while it was being renovated. It was a pleasure to return and finally stay here. The rooms are very modern yet retain charming historical details. We had a quiet room facing the backyard, complete with a sunroom, which made the stay even more relaxing. The location is fantastic—you can step outside and immediately enjoy the unique atmosphere of the city, with the Alster just around the corner for lovely walks.

The breakfast is excellent, though the dining area can get a bit crowded at times.

Wonderful location and very nice staff. The rooms are well-appointed, clean, and comfortable. And the breakfast is excellent.

    Large and clean hotel room.

The breakfast is too standard, too much discount of bread and rolls and the so called soft boiled eggs are hard to the degree in becoming dark green (10 minutes after the breakfast opens) - 5 days in a row..The tables are laying with used plates for 15-25 minutes before cleared by the hotel staff. Please repair the LED light-chain. Sloppy appearance.Too many maintenance issues in the corners of the hotel. Water damage, paint cracks, clocked drain pipe in the shower etc.

An outstanding boutique hotel with beautifully appointed rooms, a great breakfast and stunning location on the Alster. Sunset walks and cafes across the road, perfect for walking the dog after a long journey.

A second coffee machine in the breakfast room would have saved the need to queue (twice!) for coffee.

Breakfast was lovely and the shower was incredible

A bit further from the centre than expected, but a lovely walk.

The rooms are tastefully designed, with the classic German Altbau architecture enhancing the hotel’s elegant flair. Breakfast offers all the essentials and is of good quality, but due to the limited space in the breakfast area, it can feel quite crowded, leaving little room to expand the selection. The beds are sufficiently comfortable.

The building is quite old, and while it is well-maintained, soundproofing is poor—you can hear everything from the neighboring rooms, which was particularly problematic on the first night. The bathroom facilities are generally good, but the shower is extremely narrow, making it uncomfortable to use.Additionally, the toilets have only a single flush option, which is uncommon in Germany, as it results in unnecessary water wastage. The room provides only two small 330-milliliter bottles of water, which is rather limited. Surprisingly, there is no kettle, which is unusual nowadays.Lastly, the reception staff was not particularly welcoming upon our arrival, which left a less-than-ideal first impression.

The room, house and location are very charming. It is right across the street from the lovely Aussenalster lake, which we could see from our room. The neighborhood is very posh with a nice selection of cafés and restaurants. You can also easily get to other areas with public transport or on foot. Walking along the shores of the Aussenalster is a must anyway. The bed was one of the most comfortable I ever slept in. The shower had excellent water pressure and everything worked perfectly, something I find rare in even the most upscale hotels. Make sure to take a boat tour of the harbor and catch a concert at the Elbphilharmonie (the Großer Saal is mind-blowing).

There was a lot of construction going on in the neighborhood, so it made some of our walks a bit less picturesque than they could have been. The breakfast buffet was good, but not extraordinary. It was a bit small and there was not a lot of selection. There were often long lines for the coffee machine, which needed regular "fixing". We stayed for 4 nights and noticed no variation in the buffet. I would expect a boutique hotel to have something a little special every day, like a fresh cake or local pastries. Also the müsli was obviously a cheaper brand. These were small let downs to an otherwise fantastic stay! Oh, and don't waste your money on the Hamburg Card. It's cheaper to get the day card for travel and you won't go to more than two of museums a day anyway.
