Hotel Holstenwall Hamburg Neustadt

The staff was kind and very helpful. The room was clean and the bathroom was bigger than expected. The breakfast had many options, including gluten free bread, fruits, cereals, cheese, typical German products, coffee, tea and a variety of lactose free drinks. The location is also nice as the neighbour is quiet.

The description of the hotel's services is not true: Near the hotel there is a construction site and a lot of noise in the room.The smell of chlorine in the room and near it. wi-fi is almost absent: it appears or disappears. There is no parking

Broken window, no shower gel in shower, only very small double room with only the most basic facilities for an absolutely inadequately high price

Location.

1. The parking was a bit far from the hotel.2. Everything was very used and old, we had holes in our pillowcase, the shower was moldy and dirty. It even smelled old.3. The room was very dark and there were very little light from the lamps.4. The was a construction site right outside our window.5. The breakfast was very, very poor. There's only boiled eggs and bread, practically nothing to choose from. 6. My daughter had a asthma attack in the morning. We think it might be because of the construction site or the cleanliness of the room.

The Bed was comfortable and the location of the Hotel was good.

The rooms are not soundproof as described. The building next door was a construction site, which starts work at 0800.In some places the room was not cleaned properly.The shower (temperature and water pressure) was not working properly on our last day.

Everything good, as you expect from a normal hotel room. My room (407) had a desk with a nice chair to work on. Charging points at the desk and nightstand. The WiFi worked reliably (though not fast, I imagine they just throttle everyone so that it remains usable for all). Checking in an out was painless. The TV can be plugged out to not have unnecessary lights. The light in the room was a very nice indirect one. Everything was clean. The check-out at 12 is very nice, most places require you to leave earlier.

Breakfast was basic, but at least all the right basics if you're not vegan(-preferring). In the room, I had no noise issues because other guests were perfectly quiet during the night and morning, but insulation could be improved because earlier in the evening some people talking in the hallway were *very* audible through the walls/door.

20 minute walk to the theatre and miniture wonderland and 10 min walk to ripperbahn quite central. Clean staff helpful and breakfast good.

Building work outside, that can’t be helped but no proper walkway as path has been taken up by hoardings. Walking on side of road to get to junction Should by coned off for pedestrians also on Sunday only warm water for shower. Saturdays shower lovely. Clean hotel and staff really good also breakfast really nice. Would stay again.

We didn't want to spend much money, so we decided to stay at this hotel. To be fair the price/performance ratio is fine: The staff members were extremely nice, the room was clean and the location is good. I liked the filter coffee at breakfast.

However, it's not a very luxurious stay, since the walls are very thin, so you hear all the neighbours being noisy during the night. The bed was very uncomfortable and should be changed. The breakfast eggs were not very good and there were no vegan options :(

The hotel was very near to train and convention center.

Could here snores all night. Woke up thinking someone else is in the room. that’s how close the snores were coming from. View was of grouty building. They had weird lock to the door which was really difficult to navigate

there was a construction site next to building. it is an absolute impudence to charge the full price when such a construction site is next to the hotel. A construction site where even on Saturday is worked. The breakfast was subterranean, the coffee a filter coffee and it has not even gluten-free bread (not even on pre-order). For the rather high price, the breakfast was really bad.

We loved our stay here. All staff were soo lovely and welcoming and were easy to communicate with in English. The staff were also very helpful. The location is great, the rooms are clean and the breakfast options are the best, we ate there every morning.

Only thing is the room can get quite hot, this is more a personal preference, but it was hard to cool down on the really hot days. We are used to having air conditioning so it was an adjustment.
