Our stay at Hotel St. Raphael was great.The location next to the Hbf is very practical. It was very easy to get to the hotel and to travel around the city. It is just far away enough from the station for it to be pleasent (though I would not recommend walking alone from the Hbf to the hotel at night).The staff were very nice and quite helpful with giving us some directions.The room was on the small side, but lovely and clean, which made it perfect for a short buisness trip.All in all it was a good experiance and I will probably come again next time I am in Hamburg.

The hotel was good, had a nice location and was easily reachable.

The wallpaper was a little outdated and a bit dark for my taste

The room was spacious, light and airy with a very comfortable bed and a fabulous shower! There were black out curtains too.Tea and coffee facilities supplied.The hotel bar was convenient.It was my husband's 50th and they left him a lovely large muffin in the room and greeted him with a Happy Birthday ?The hotel is generally nice throughout and the staff were friendly ?

Breakfast is €22 PP each day which although it is nice, we felt was way too much to expect people to pay.Obviously, this is in no way any fault of the hotel, but the surrounding area felt dangerous to walk through - especially at night and early morning, with groups of men sitting around, beggars, drug dealers (actually witnessed deals) and drug addicts - even openly smoking crack pipes! There were strong smells of urine and weed as you walked along the road. Some of the hotels are gorgeous so it's such a shame!

We were two guests and the room had two chairs. So much easier to watch tv or have separate activities. Many hotels provide only one chair. Breakfast had lots of healthy choices.

The very shallow sink in the bathroom was completely useless even for a quick wash.MIssed having access to small meals during the day or evening. There was only breakfast.No bicycles for rent at this property and it was a good walk to find a rental location and very uncomfortable if you had walking challenges, which we did. The hotel did provide a locked garage for storage of bikes.Not a lot of restaurants close by. The square, a 10 minute walk away, was a little sketchy with some police action.

We felt safe and comfortable at the hotel, despite the somewhat rough nature of the surrounding neighborhood.

At 22€, the price of the breakfast -- while quite a nice setup -- was excessive.

The room was comfortable and was what we were expecting.

The location was not ideal and if I'd known more about the open drug use (needles and maybe someone smoking crack?) nearby, we would have chosen a different location.

Fantastic breakfast and very good room and bathroom! Worth more than the price you pay

Location... Even if's center, that part of Hamburg has too many homeless like people

Location, easy access to Hamburg train station, but walking there gets you past a lot of shady characters and drug users. NOT in front of the hotel , halfway or more to the station.

I had been here two weeks ago and felt really satisfied with everything during my stay that I decided to book this place again. Nothing has changed, every thing is done right here. The staff always doing their best to make you feel welcomed. This time I had the pleasure to know Yannik Franke who was very helpful and made my stay in Hamburg better. Also the lady in charge of keeping my room in shape. A great hotel with a great staff.

Everything was great.

Every thing about the hotel is great. Location, location, location, just a few blocks from the main train station in Hamburg and many of the most important old construction are nearby, on the other side of the station. The hotel is in great shape, very clean, well kept and well appointed,too. We appreciate the free bottle of water that is so needed after a long trip. Our room was pretty large compared to others we have been in Europe. No AC but not needed, just opening the windows is enough. No noises , just a tranquil place.The staff also is great and is, to me , the most important asset this place has. Very welcoming people. I interacted the most with Mario, very nice man who was always ready to help with addresses and info about the city and the area.I am going on a cruise and I had a different hotel on my way back from it but I decided to make another reservation for another room here for I have felt so well that now I think this is best hotel in this area of Hamburg.I also interacted with Ms Pualsen who was also very nice to me

Everything was right

Breakfast was plentiful. Kids love the "make your waffle" station. The staff is very helpful. The fridge in our room wasn't functioning. reported it and it was replaced immediately.Since we had a room not facing the street, it was also quiet.Very good experience!

The walk from the station is not very pleasant, I would recommend taking the U-Bahn to the station "Berliner Tor" and then walking from this station to the hotel. The distance is the same as from HBF but the road seems cleaner and safer.

Comfort plus room was quiet big and comfortable. The front desk personnel was so sweet she gave us a room upgrade!?The hotel is very close to Hamburg Hbf ZOB!

The surrounding areas was not what i expected.
