    Pros +

    • The location was convenient, especially being close to the Deutsche Schauspielhaus.
    • Location! My favorite barber, Turkish dinner and SLUT Bar all close to the HbH..
    • Not recommended, not even as a last resort

    Cons -

    • The surrounding area felt unpleasant. Check-in was fully automated via a computer, with no staff present. The toilets were located one floor below the room and were not stocked with toilet paper. By the morning, the common areas were dirty and littered with garbage.
    • The check in machine is clunky and it takes forever to enter your information. If you don’t pay attention to the screen to see which room you have, you’ll be taking your key and having to try every door! The room did not have a blackout curtain on it! I have now stayed here four separate visits.
    • The room was OK, but the carpet was extremely dirty. I think they didn’t change the bed sheets or the blanket. After staying at the hotel for a few days, I got scabies all over my body.

Not recommended, not even as a last resort

I booked a 4 person room for me and my friend and we were only given a single key card. Is a group of 4 people supposed to share a single key if they book that room? We asked for a second card and were told "it's against the law to give out more than one card" which is a straight up lie

Hotel is run digitally, so sign in is with a touchscreen. Locks are digital too and everything works. Rooms and hotel itself is clean. Breakfast is excellent at a cafe on the ground floor. Everything within the room itself is bare, but it works and its clean. Rooms though small are very functional and comfortable.

The only negative is the area, which at night turns into criminals vs police. If you plan to sleep through the night, then this is a non issue. But if you are walking here at night , then be prepared to meet all kinds of characters on the street.

    The price is quite friendly.

The room is quite good, but the lobby whether to check in doesn't smell well. Besides, the automatic check in machine is not easy to use.

Very close to central station in Hamburg, comfortable space with some storage options, TV

Sink had a weird smell, mild in the shower tiles, basic open storage

Food and cleansing of the bedding set.

Room Hot as FU**C**K, and NO AIR CONDITIONING. There wasn't no blinders or blackout on the windows, I got in 1:40am, 4am the sun "woke me up", and talking about "awakening" 20 meters away from the window, there is a DRUG DEN with HUNDREDS OF JUNKIES, fighting, screaming, cursing DURING EVERY SECOND OF THE NIGHT...I LITERALLY Didn't not sleep. Mix it, 45 degrees+hell under my window+no blinders+police sirens every minute ! That's it, I HATED THE PLACE, the surroundings are EXACTLY LIKE SOMALIA ! The staff, ahh the staff, there's no staff, only two guys preparing the food. Took me 30 minutes to get in and more 20 to check out. I'll never return there again.

Decent room size. Not so great neighbourhood. Sub-par bed size and blankets.

    8Miguel A.Posted on: 8-8-2025

Good location, nice balcony. Comfy bed.

Check-in and check-out times are not an international standard and inflexible. No fridge, mini-bar or similar.Unable to leave the baggage on the premises with no indication to a locker facility nearby.

    Location and silence

Inside washroom, should be some additional things

I love this neighborhood. So close to the HbH, amazing Turkish food and a great barber.

While local population seems very niche with clusters of many different folk, it is quite safe.

The hotel is near restaurants, Hamburg Central station, city center and local shops like Lidl etc. However, the location is not the best one, the streets are full of homeless people, drug addicts etc. wouldn't recommend going out after 10 pm alone

The check in machine wasn't working and we had to go to the other building across the street. Mattresses were very uncomfortable, too soft. There is no reception in the building and in the other building apparently they do just fee hours. They don't have a bag deposits so we had to leave our luggage in the storage station.

    Very poor

The radiator was broken and couldn't be turned down, so the room was extremely hot. I couldn't sleep with the windows open because the hotel is located right next to a very busy road. Since there is no staff at the hotel, it was not possible to contact anyone about this issue

    8AndersenPosted on: 4-22-2025

Clean. Comfy beds. Nice location in Arabic area with lots of interesting shops. Restaurants close by.

Check in was a hazzle since the machine was not working and nobody answered the phone. Took 45 minutes to check in.

Modern facilities, good location, easy check in/out, several bathrooms, comfy bed. Good affordable solution for a short stay

Everything was just right spotlessy clan, beautiful designed, and the team incredibly warm and welcomin. A true feel good hotel with amazing value for money. From the very first moment, youfeel right at home

I would have loved to stay on one of the upper floors but unfortunately they were closed at the time

    10HennaPosted on: 4-4-2025

Room was clean and check in was easy.

District where hotel is located was not that nice.

    1AlessandroPosted on: 3-27-2025

Unclear check-in policies lead to me having to pay for this and then having to book another hotel.

    5GonçaloPosted on: 3-22-2025

Pleasant, clean room. The hotel is close to the main station.

I was only warned about the self check-in after I made the reservation. Not a good surprise, since the self check-in process wasn't all that simple and the neighborhood didn't feel like the safest (beggars, drug dealers and sex workers all around, especially at night). To make matters worse, the check-in was only possible until 10pm, another piece of information I was only told about after I made the reservation. And the check-out time, 10am, was way too early, so I felt somewhat cheated.
