- Great location, near Hamburg central station and city center

Cons -
- Location is close to train station, but very congested. Loud voices all through the night from the streets below. People fighting in the streets, did not feel safe walking in the area.Would NOT recommend this hotel.
- It was borderline dirty, the staff was merely helpful. Forget about even a bottle of water in your room, no shampoo. In short, good enough for one night as makeshift accommodation but forget about a longer stay
- The streets around the hotel were like a war zone. Full of gangs, people selling drugs and breaking things. Very dangerous area to walk during the night.

The location near the bus station
The property is very rustic and the shower is to tiny
Very close to the main rail station. Room is ample, plenty of space for our suitcases. The room is clean. Bed is comfortable and the sheets are clean. Breakfast is very good.
The neighborhood is bad, plenty of drunks, beggars, etc. in the street. There are 5 floors and there is no elevator. The maintenance is very poor. Many things are not properly fastened. The curtains fell, reported to the reception, nobody came to fix it. Old fashioned bed. When the other person moves you can feel it.
Staff was nice. Walking distance to city center.
It's right next to the central station with the craziness surrounding it, but it's convenient.
This ain’t the Ritz, but it’s a short walk from Hamburg train station. It’s clean and staff take great pride in what they do. We were in a bind when our hotel canceled our reservation with only 12 hours notice. The gentlemen running the place were kind, understanding and helpful. Especially when several other nearby hotels would not help. The price was very reasonable.
The neighborhood is a little rough. There is no elevator. Our room was on the 5th floor. The decor is not their strong suit. But beds were comfortable. Room was clean. Everything worked.
Good value hotel very close to Hamburg Central Station. My room was small and a bit basic (with a shared bathroom and to
Hotel conveniently located - next to the station and not too far from the center. Very friendly staff. Beds ok.
The area is awful at night, unsafe and dirty. We found a cockroach in the entrance of the hotel, drunk homeless people and drug addicts nearby. Parking is very unconvenient as well. The hotel itself is oldish and not very clean. We did not feel very comfortable and will certainly never be back.
Very close to the central station
The area is not safe for family friendly stay. They don’t have space for baby stroller. The area was a bit creepy with drug addicts particularly when you are walking around with small baby. I won’t recommend for family with small kids.
Once you leave the bedlam of Steindamm on a Friday night the hotel is like an oasis of calm. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was very quiet at night and the beds very comfortable, so we slept well. The breakfast was great, a nice buffet of cereals, yogurts, breads, cold meats, cheeses and crudités.The decor is peculiar, but the building used to be a brothel. It's surprisingly close to the main railway station and the big name shops. The stairs help to keep you fit.
Brits always miss tea-making facilities!
Got help from the receptionist to take our luggage up since there was not a lift
The are is not very pleasent the rooms are not nice and the bathroom was smelly
Nice location and friendly staff. Decent bathroom.
The windows had no noise insulation, so it was difficult sleeping with all the noise from the street. Also, the mirror above the bed was a bit weird (we didn't notice it in the photos until after booking), and the lights were flickering sporadically.
Great location near the bus station. Short walk into the city centre. Great breakfast. Old world charm. Very friendly host.
All good
It's definitely a 3 star experience and you get what you pay for. It's not awful, it's not fantastic. The staff were very friendly, although the card machine was out of order. The bathrooms relatively modern and clean. I was nervous about the area given all the reviews and although yes there is a lot of dodgy people on this road, but as a single young woman I didn't find it to be a problem. The road is really big and bustling with lots of lights, lots of ethnic grocers and people moving around. I don't think you could really be pursed or targeted when it's busy. I arrived at 8ish and it was very busy. And it is really a stones throw from the central station, even closer than it seems on google maps, so it's a few minutes at most walk. No lift of course inside.
Whole property seems a bit run-down. Carpets everywhere seemed really quite dirty. The worst thing which wasn't acceptable was finding a vacuum cleaner and stack of seeming freshly laundered towels stuffed behind an entrance door on the room-floor. I would not want to use a towel that had been on that carpet, in a dusty dirty corner. Not okay. Inside the room the lighting/lightbulbs do not have a nice feel to them and the light fixtures are sort of broken on the wall/it's a bit shabby. I'm not quite sure what the vibe of the hotel is intended to be, I was in the "honeymoon" room complete with moving concave/convex mirror over the four poster bed, make of that what you will....
Perfect location
The hotel provided a movable AC and it’s not enough. The AC made big noises. The ventilation in bathroom is not working so well. The room is quite hot during the day.
Very kind and helpful personnel in a charming and unique hotel. Our kid loved the decor with the feathers, the diamonds and the colours. Think burlesque style but made family friendly in the family rooms, of course. It is a LGBTQIA+ family friendly place. The people are so nice, down to earth and easy to talk with. They were honest, service minded and gave great tips on where to go in the city. The breakfast room was so cosy with a homey feel to it, and we were glad we opted in for breakfast in the booking. Overall, we felt very welcome and well taken care of.
The street and area is what it is. That is probably also why the hotel is cheaper than those a few streets away - so you get the street you pay for, which is fair. There are a lot of drunks and drug addicts hanging around the area but we did not experience anyone being rude or unkind to us. Mostly just lost souls mumbling to themselves or arguing amongst themselves. People generally made way for us to access the hotel door, and mostly did not pay much attention to us. That being said, I would not walk alone at night in the street or carry an expensive look there. We were there as a family with smaller children and in bed before any of the trouble started in the streets, so we were fine, but I would not recommend younger people planning on coming home late at night staying there, unless they are already familiar with similar neighbourhoods and thus knows how to navigate there.
Bedding and rooms generally good. New windows. The bathrooms were clean, shower worked well with good hot water. Breakfast was not included, 14 eur. A bit much.
We arrived late, street littered with junkies. Terrible scene of social decay. Entrance to hotel looks like a great shoot up area, poorly lit and should be gated. No elevator, we had lots of bags, 4th floor. Even reception on 1st floor. Guy helped a bit with bringing bags up.
The room was of good size for the three of us and it was well kept and clean.the location is great as it’s close by the main rail network and food shops close by.
With there being no lift the stairs are the not the best if your on the top two floors to be climbing especially with any luggage.
