Very cozy and individual atmosphere, very clean, very central

The location allowed us to walk almost everywhere. The room size was comfortable and gave us plenty of space. We also really enjoyed the historic house atmosphere of the building, it felt very cozy.

The hotel is very close to the main train station, which makes transportation extremely convenient. However, due to its proximity to the station, there were often groups of men around the area who did not always make the surroundings feel very safe. At times, especially late in the evening, we felt slightly uneasy on the street near the hotel.

It is close to the central train station and to the city center. Very clean and quiet

If you have reduced mobility, note that there is no lift.

Spent a night here on the way theough to Munich. Close to the station, lovely host, breakfast looked good but we left early so couldn't enjoy it. Lovely traditional style hotel.

It's close to the train station so you get the usual crowd of drunks but they kept to themselves.

I'm afraid I did not enjoy my stay here. The unsafe location was hard to solve with any hotel amenities.

I did not feel safe here. As seen from other reviews after my stay, the hotel is in a drug hotspot area of Hamburg. While I understand that this is not the hotel's fault, I had to tightly manage my stay to ensure I did not arrive after dark. Even in the daytime, it was an area that makes you feel uneasy. The staff are very friendly (and brave, as they ask people hanging out at the front doors to move sometimes), but the hotel was very dated, and did not feel secure. The breakfast was really nice, but if you have any dietary requirements/preferences there aren't a lot of options.

Great location for an early train. Great value for money. Room had plugs near the bed, and was comfortable. Efficient out-of-hours check in with clear instructions.

This property is very close to the train station.

We had to give time to a man who was resting on the steps up to the entrance while he was preparing to heat his recreational drug. While he was there he also hacked a loogie. One of our rooms had an odor.

The hotel was very nice and cozy and secure. Close to the Hauptbahnhof. The hotel staff were very friendly and attentive. Let us check out late and were able to have some family join us for breakfast.

A gem, spacious, character full and very comfortable. Very close to the station for onward early morning travel.

The only downside is the less than pleasant street. There were people loitering and we heard shouting during the night.

The central station area is a bit rough.

The room was thoughtfully furnished, like a boutique hotel with eclectic furnishings. Interesting and tasteful. Beds were comfortable. A small sitting area was provided as well as fresh mineral water daily.

Unfortunately the location is in a part of town which is beset by less desirable elements of society, at times noisy and often conveying fears for ones safety. I stayed on the same street 15 years ago and there were no concerns then so I didn't hesitate to make this booking. I would not recommend the location now.

The room was small but alot of small details were thought of like a coffee maker and small kettle, wine glasses, & toiletries. We didn't opt for the hotel breakfast but they were generous in providing coffee if you wanted and the owner was always happy to help with anything. Beds were comfortable. You were able to open windows too. The advantage was the proximity to the very busy train station and bus station only minutes away. Walking distance to many restaurants & attractions such as the Townhall and Harbour front.

We are 70 and 80 and had a 3-flight walk up. Not our favorite thing at the end of the day but doable. Just a note if stairs are an issue. Because of proximity to the train station, there are more shady characters in the area but that comes with any downtown core. We didn't have any issues in our 3-day stay.

Breakfast excellent and Walter made me fresh eggs and ham. Good choice of pastries and rolls etc. The location is very convenient, although there are a lot of people who are down on their luck on the street outside. Service was excellent and the room had character which is often lacking in other hotels. Nice drinking water.

The area around the hotel has lots of 'interesting' people.

Location is 5 minutes from the train station. The room itself is nice. The bathroom was clean.

Carpets in the room extremely dirty with a lot of stains.

Charming hotel, our room was so nice. So personal and roomy. Silent at night and 4 min from.Hbf. Breakfast and the breakfast room was so nice. All efforts put into details. No elevator as described.

There are classic German decorations here, such as solid wood stairs and German doors, and the physical keys are used here.

The size and cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms were above our expectations.Staff is very helpful and friendly.Right beside the train station.
